| [iThis afternoons crap performance was nothing new because we've seen it all before over the years watching Salford City Reds, one week hot and the next cold to say the least.
Well today's game is history now and hopefully in two weeks time our head-coach can get 17 fully fit players out on the paddock all singing from the same song sheet when we play Hull KR because if he does not we are in for another beating for sure.
The main thing I don't want to see again this season is Malcolm Alker playing in a game when it was clear to see today the old lad was not 100% from the kick-off.
Also if Jeremy Smith does get banned by the RFL this week then hopefully Salford City Reds will allow this chap to return home early, plus if any other players don't want to give 100% for the cause then I would rather see some young kids get blooded in the last three games. but of course that's up to our head-coach to sort out between now and the Hull KR encounter.

| Total shocker from start to finish today, but what i was most shocked at was the idiot who threw a programme at the end that hit Jodie Broughton in the face. I am sure that all the players were embarrased by that performance, but by no means did they deserve that!. Christ, only the other week that fans were asking on here as to why the players dont come over at the end, well today was your answer. but on a posotive note, the corporate was spot on.

| Driving back listing to the phone in on Radio Manchester - Jack Deardon asked if anyone had any good news!!!! Should have called in as Hillbilly Red & I had a couple of excellent pints of real ale, a very good sausage & bacon toastie and all served by a barmaid with a lovel bum - certainly a better experience than watching the game!!

| I am trying to give a measured response, first the positives, Salford fans who turned up, there were as many Salford fans as crusader fans! Cashmere & Matty Smith were the only two who should actually collect there pay cheque.
Why do we promise so much then against a team around us produce a performance like that, it would be easy to blame the ref who was shocking but we were worse.
For me this is what is wrong with the present structure, no relegation, no pride in some of the players, looks to me like some of the players have been told they don't have a contract next season.
Willie Talau sending him packing now, Fitz had a mare, Alker, looked a shadow of is former self, Luke Swain now going through the motions, Parker finished, weak defence on the right hand side, Ratchford not match fit, J. Smith indiscipline, Adamson looks to be going backwards at present, no punch in attack, what a waste of £20 plus travelling
What really ed me off is Salford fans turned out in there numbers today & we let them down again, no excuses please!
Our coach Shaun McRae to top it off on our way home & listening to GMR we listened to his post match on the way home, 3 years into a contact & all he could say is he did not have a clue why they played like lemons, at no other super league club would this coach still be in a job!

he picks the team
he runs the training
how many times have we put out a team that does not want to know?
how many injures we have that look the same (shoulder)
do we have a game plain?
sorry to say if the club is to move forward with the new ground and players, it must be without our coach and director of rugby
for a winning team we must have a winning coach!!!!!!!!!!!

| Shocking performance, in front of a rather large away following aswell. We are constantly going on about raising attendances, and when the supporters bother to pay their hard earned money to attend they are subject to an abysmal showing like that!

| Does anyone think this shocking performance could have anything to do with the fact 50% of the squad are likely to be booted out of the door at the end of the season? Yes you can blame the coach and some poor ref's decisions but I think it's a lot deeper than that. If you were working somewhere and you knew you wasn't wanted anymore would you honestly put 100% effort and commitment in to it? Could it be a case that pressing agents have now told their players there will be no new contract offer from the club? If it was 3 or 4 players not being retained then I'd imagine the rest would pull them through but when its virtually half or more of the seventeen then its a different story.
All I can say is i'd rather go through the pain of an embarrasing result like today now with less to play for than next year if it means we will have better quality players and more commited team.
Maybe it's an ideal time to blood some youngsters now!

| theredshed - I think you've nailed it spot on - It's been clear for a while that this season is pretty much a write off - getting Holdsworth to commit and then signing Patton is a sign of things looking up, but with nothing to play for and as you say many of the current squad moving on then today's result, whilst dreadful to watch, probably is not too surprising
