OK honestly i have no idea what half the penalties were for last night, especially in that first half. He had no control on that game. I haven't yet watched it back but he was dreadful and equally on both sides. I was sat with a couple of Saints fans who were equally confused. If we were repeatedly sticking hands in at the ruck then we should have had a bin especially the amount of times he blew. Masoe should have had ten - regardless if you hit your own player or not the intention was there. That first half he not no control and i am surprised it didn't spill over to a brawl. Not saying we lost because of him, as he was equally as bad for saints.

There were pushes on Ormsby Westwood and countless other players over the course of the game, Burns attacked Russell's head on five occasions - one penalty was given for all of those.



Westwood on Masoe - the ball carrying arm hadn't touched the floor, he gave a penalty; Ratchford on Turner - Turner dived; O'B on Quinlan - they both had eyes on the ball, Saints player got to it first and he gave tackle in the air; Sims pinged on the line for Walsh putting the ball down on his leg and losing it.



The talking back rubbish...i saw Percival say "you f******g having a laugh ref", shouted at him, and he didn't say a word the ref! But Ratch shouts "he dived Sir" and he brings the captain over!



That was all in about a twenty minute spell. All against us.



The worst 40mins of referreeing i've seen all season!

Im very hungover so i blame that haha.

Burns must be loving it, all the stuff he got penalised for when he was at Hull KR he's now getting away with now that he is at St Helens.

I am glad others have picked up on Burns, he can't make a tackle unless it is high and finishes with a grapple.

Not to mention Random punches when standing from a tackle.. Dirty crap bag

Childs should never be given a game of this magnitude again..!

It was a "look at me I'm in charge performance" when he realises the fans don't come to see him he may improve as a ref.

It's a shame you can't have Bentham every week.

I honestly think the great game we all love and gob off about on here every week is now at a standstill and will not improve or move forward till this poor officials week after week is not sorted out, apart from physically stabbing someone you don't get a sin bin, the refs just want to be known as the friends of any team that host the top 4 slot,, it's shocking, and to much of a regular poor performance,, it's ruining good games!!!

I've not had a chance to watch the game back (and I won't be doing in line with my sulky "we've lost so I am not bothered" ritual) but usually when you watch a game back on Sky, your opinion of the ref is much different to when at the game.



Has anyone bothered to watch it back to have a better judgement? At the game, I thought he was atrocious.
