I was wondering about Philbin. Do you think he was given the 13 as an ego thing? I really don't like Hughes and Clark J on the pitch at the same time, but prefer the impact Philbin makes off the bench. Could Robson work as a 13?

they were using him as a middle(when he got on the pitch) last year, size wise he's the same as philbs and clark, so he should fit price's scheme

I like Robson for a bench spot. With Currie and Hughes able to move into centre and Mamo capable across the backline I don’t see a need for a back on the bench.



Harsh on Ashton (assuming he’s not starting over Lineham) but not worth a passenger

That would be my guess. And as Price is nothing but conservative I suspect he will not risk Wrench.

I think Robson could certainly do a job at 13. I think him and Thewliss are getting pretty close to SL standard. Clark doesn't really take the ball up whereas Robson will have a go so he certainly adds more than Clark's defensive contribution. But Robson missed a tackle in the Leigh match that led to the Brierly try and that will not have been lost on Price, so I can't see him squeezing Clark out of his spot yet.

Doro can count himself to be very unlucky to miss out as he looked much more of a handful than both Robson and Butler last week.

I actually thought Jason Clark looked livelier in the friendly than he did at any point last season. Surprised me a little to be honest. You're right about Thewliss and Robson - both banging on the door now.
