I was suprised that the Ryan Atkins try was ruled out, he's clearly not looking at the ball, he's focused on tackling the Wigan player. Surely its a case of the ball playing the man rather than the man playing the ball.



I'm pretty sure ive seen these given before in a sky game, lets say a kicker on the last tackle puts through a kick that hits a defending player on the arm and he knows nothing about it, he then he drops on the loose ball, is that then a knock on if the ball played the man rather than the man playing the ball ?



I thought for a knock on the man had to be making a play at the ball ?

I also thought it would be given, its not like he swung his arm out to hit the ball like player do trying to prevent a break... he just hit the ball in the act of the tackle, so should have ben play on in my opinion, but Wigan seem to get alot of calls like that.

I thought teh Atkins try was a definate try, mind you I also thought O'Loughlin was a mile off-side for his try; shows what I know.

I thought the Atkins one was a try. We seem to see a lot of decisions go against the defending team when this type of thing happens and IMO most of the time they get it wrong.

classic case of 'benefit to the losing side'... it happens all the time... when a team is getting mullered, they get all the decisions.... nothing wrong with that try at all.. Atkins just dominated them and had a perfectly good try scrubbed off.

Can't comment just yet. However, I want to ask what happened when there was a kick in an d(I think Myler) caught it in the second half. Turned out a wigan penalty. Was he offside? and how bad was it?

Penalty was for offside which I'm not too sure about, it was a close one, however he knocked on anyway and failed to ground the ball.

He was clearly just trying to make the tackle and wasn't even looking at the ball. Should have been given.
