| The thing is I did have a big drum but 85% of the songs started with us and we did have a few very decent ditties over the years.
I have moved to the middle of the south stand now, if I try and start singing I get looked at like I have 3 heads!
The young lads are Trying, in time they will come good hopefully by then they will realise that using songs specific to any of the local prem sides will not work as too many people have too many clubs they follow.
What is the penut song I have heard it mentioned a few times now?

| You can come up with dead simple stuff off the bat that takes off. Most will remember lesley is a girls name and he's got a pineapple on his head that just spread like wildfire, always look out for Leon carrying glass. All dated now but dead simple that people took too.
There is a song before oh solomona but it hasn't took off
He signed for the wire and he sets up the try's
He is six foot tall and ten foot wide solomona oh oh solomona.

| Raymond is spot on I remember when a male voice choir did pre match entertainment for one game at the HJ and were soundly booed when they sang you'll never walk alone.
to my mind in the 80's we were the only rugby fans to sing that.....
We roared it out at the final whistle at Wembley in 1990 so much so Alex Murphy in the commentary said Listen to the wigan fans cheering their victorious team....!! it was sung on numerous occasions throughout the 86 Premiership final......
happy days.....
the last good song we had was the Langer song ....

| What needs to happen is the people who like singing need to stand together, then what happens is it filters through the rest of the crowd who are too shy to start singing. Look at Wigan UltraBrigs flags, they are like a roman standard and the boisterous fans flock round the flags and start to sing.
The only thing i can see being the advantage of those flags they have.
We need a 'prepared to START singing' focal point/area.

| Quote Raymond Pennington="Raymond Pennington"Yeah but doesn't that show that there is no orginality if we have to rehash the old songs? We should have new top tunes to sing but we don't.'"
I agree, but it's quite difficult in rugby imo. United are very good at original songs and player based songs, but they have the stretford end to kick them off then the rest of the fans learn them. it would be difficult to recreate that, when we look at the teams that do sing alot, Hull, Wigan, Leeds, Hull are the only team out of those 3 that have relatively original songs, wigan's are just football songs, as are Leeds.

That was probably because the scousers in our crowd were more bothered about what was going on at Liverpool v QPR than us getting pasted by the Pies at Wembley.
Mind you its a good job they made the most of it.
