Quote the flying biscuit="the flying biscuit"
An old coach of mine on his first visit to Oz saw the local penrith amateur set up and was amazed by it.first and foremost its focus is the kids, the open age stuff is the after thought. We have it the wrong way round. Bank quay bulls for example are one of the most successful rugby clubs in the north west how is that helping warrington RLFC. Its not because their priority is open age Rugby, while youth teams are secondary.

Penrith's youth system always gets hailed as a good model especially because of the numbers of kids involved with it but Penrith Panthers have made the playoffs once in the last seven years...it doesn't always translate through to being successful at first team level.
It's like the famous West Ham boast about producing Ferdinand, Lampard, Cole, Carrick, Defoe and Johnson, half the England team in recent years - it's not made West Ham this formidable club that everybody fears has it....neither have Everton for all their Academy products, Rooney, Jeffers, Dunne, Ball, Osman, Hibbert, McCann etc
