I have a hunch that SM may have had some influence in bringing back Penny.

It seems to go against the grain of TS??

I don't see why we've signed him if we don't plan on using him. But I agree with an earlier post, there's no point bringing him in if our halfbacks can't spread the ball and create things.

I think i would be tempted to bring O'Brien back into the halves & try Ratchford at loose forward......we might get a bit more half back ball distribution then. As much as i like Ratch ,he doesn't seem to like passing ,but he would give us some mobility at loose & Harrison could safely move to prop. Failing GOB coming in ,didn't Currie used to play stand off ?

I wouldn't want a player who seldom passes to play at loose.

By the way ,according to sportinglife, Danny Bridge is now on a season long loan at Bradford. That will hopefully give him some SL experience.

He will be 1st choice there now. Mullally was recalled to Hudds.

Bit of a surprise that considering our injury list. Perhaps Ratchford at 13 is an option but can't see TS going that way. Ben Harrison would be the obvious choice.

Kevin Penny was nothing more than a signing to sell a few more season tickets after a poor year of recruitment. Signing Penny got a lot of people talking, we signed him from Swinton knowing full well he would be more than likely playing for them all year anyway.

Danny Bridge, like Anthony Mullally, can be recalled at 24 hours' notice.

well i, for one was more excited about seeing Penny come back and play for us than i was about any of the other signings, and pretty much all of the people i go with felt the same.. Admittedly a large proportion of our fans nowadays probably don't know who Penny is.

I heard a story that signing Penny was simply to fill your home grown players (or whatever it's called) quota. Part of the agreement was that he'd be loaned straight back to Swinton.



How true it is, I don't know. It came from a Warrington employee though.
