| The Agar appointment baffled me. As for Monas, genuine question, what makes everyone assume he will make a good coach, has there been a noticeable change in Catalan since he arrived there? Or is it a case of ABA (anyone but Agar)?

I don't think anyone knows for sure yet. However he's a real scholar of the game, is very well respected at the club, was tactically very good and knows the club well.
When briers & Monas were nearing retirement I always thought one of them would end up as TS second in charge, of the two I always hoped it would be Monas. To have both of them here would be great.

| Monas and Briers as assistant coach next year would be great in my opinion.
Both know how the players tick and will get the respect. Briers has done a fine job with the u19s and Monas has had a year away to gain experience.
Think we would see an improvement in Joel as well especially if he is relieved of the captains job.

| When Briers move up was announced, TS said that he didn't think any player should leave the playing staff and go straight into coaching with the same team. He said they all needed time away from the group before coming back. That's why Briers went to the 19s, Clarke went to Widnes, and Monas went to Catalan.

| Yes please. Sure it'd be popular with the team and might give Joel a boost as well being back with his bro. I'm not even sure if it's Agar is to blame for our current woes or just coincidence, but he's not exactly set the world alight with his work elsewhere so couldn't be worse.

| I for one don't know what the responsibilities are with respect to coaching at Warrington.
IF Agar's influence is significant then there are qeustions to be asked about his performance as it's not really worked out on the field.
I didn't expect us to be as good as last year but at times we've looked lost.
However if TS has the main say about on field tactics / practice then why kick Agar?
As for MM, I'm not sure how good he is as a coach but he was pivotal as a player. I'd like him back.
MM/LB as a team - no - too inexperienced.

| I 'kick' Agar as he has not proved himself with his previous clubs, or what we have seen this season with Wires.
As I don't know what happens on a daily basis regarding training I might be adding 2 and 2 together and getting 5, but I can live with that.

| I haven't heard one player or Tony Smith "big up" Agar in the face of all the criticism he is receiving on the forum and Warrington Guardian outlets.
We do get a lot of comments on here from fans of clubs he was previously involved with stating relief when he had left.
Mind you Tony Smith has never, to my knowledge, accepted responsibility for the poor performances and season. Rather he seems like a bemused outsider commenting on things out of his control like injuries and game scheduling.
I suspect it would be like a breath of fresh air if he ever said "I've made a few mistakes with player recruitment and my team, mistakes that I have learnt from and will be putting right for next season. Keep the faith and thank you for your continued support".

Finally someone with some sense. People have been calling to get Monas as coach for ages and they we have no clue he'd be a good coach. Just because he was a brilliant player doesn't mean he'll be able to teach your skills and organise others from an off the field position.
And for anyone saying he'll have the teams respect and he'll know the players at least, I have one word. Cullen. Do you remember how that worked out?

oh yes, the similarities between the 2 potential appointments are uncanny.
