Bernard Cribbins has a long association with RL including leading the community singing at the CC Final at the old Wembley.
A fitting choice and honour to have him present the Cup IMHO.

I was at Wembley in 1960 when the Queen was there to present the cup to Wakefield. Had a few complimentary words too for Hull player Tommy Harris who won the Lance Todd trophy despite Hull taking a shellacking in the match.
Was at Wembley for the first time when Warrington won in 1950 but cannot remember who presented it. Ditto when you won the replay in 1954 at Odsal. |

The difference is acute...drove through Towyn and it was rammed to busting...carried on into Rhyl...it was like a ghost town.
