Quote The All New Chester Wire="The All New Chester Wire"We've had Tony Smith and we've had Brian Noble and neither has been able to turn us into a team who can consistently beat Australia or New Zealand. Maybe it's not the coach which is the problem.
Likely England team is something like
Briscoe, Fox, Bridge, Eastmond, Atkins, Tomkins, Myler, Peacock, Lunt, Graham, Ellis, Tomkins, Burgess. Morley, Crabtree, O'Loughlin, Maguire.
That's why we won't win, not the coach.'"
Exactly, we could have Wayne Bennett and Craig Bellamy as a dual coaching team with Joey Johns and El Masri as backs / goalkicking coaches and still not beat the Aussies.
One bright note for the future, they have no young halves of a similar quality to Tomkins and Eastmond at the moment and might struggle to replace Darren Lockyer over the next few years. Wade Graham and Daniel Mortimer are decent prospects though, and I'm sure the next potential superstars are just coming out of high school knowing England's luck.
Edit: Just remembered Mitchell Pearce as well. FFS looks like we'll never beat them.
