Thanks for clarity on that! I watched the game with the in-laws on Saturday night and even they were appalled at how stupid he was to flop down like he did. They thought initially he should have walked but I've seen the incident slowed down and although there is the look of intent to hurt Ben Jeffries, the contact was made on the chest.



However replying to someone saying that more damage will be caused when running, they hadn't factored in gravity and the fact he was lay on the ground thus giving a crush type effect on the players chest.



That being said he is generally a player that gives 100% every game, being one of the best centres in the competition, and has the occasional "brain fart" moment that gives away stupid penaltys. If he is given a ban it can be a time for him to reflect on his temprement asalready posted.

All players have a duty of care towards themselves, their team & the oppo players. That's the line that is usually trotted out with spear tackles for example.



In this case Bridge dropped on Jeffries with his forearm, aiming for the ball/chest area. In a contact sport there is always a chance of unexpected movement so the tackle had a [igreater potential[/i for injury if jeffries moved or bridge's arm glanced off the ball.



That potential for injury is accurately reflected with a 1 match ban I think.

I think a 1 match ban is about right. For my personal opinion he wasn't going for head or face area, but trying to dislodge the ball. The aggression of the hit and the use of the elbow made it look worse than it was for me, and you see the agressive drop onto a player on the floor all the time, just think the elbow was a mistake, but as I say not sure he was going to hit Jeffers in the face

Of course ALL future forearms to the chest (whenever players are on the floor) will result in a one match ban. I wont hold my breath, though

He deserved more than one match for what he did if that was any other player doing that on a Wire player we would all be screaming for his head ! He's been very lucky to get away with one game ban IMO !

i think the whole thing has been blown out of proportion c/o eddie & stevo. on match day ithought it looked bad, watching it back on sky+ it looked less of an offence, as stated earlier no conTACT WASA MADE WITH THE HEAD OR NECK!

Glad he's been banned there's no place in the game for the intentional thuggery Chris Bridge showed on the weekend.

I agree with some of that PADDERS. There are some on here who are not as consistent as you and I, and will see all through spectacles tinted as per their club.



One match is probably about right though. He didn't quite lose it, but came close, so about right as a warning. I just hope Bridge will now be able to control the aggression that makes him the outstanding player he his. Teams have been targeting him for a couple of weeks now, and seem to be able to wind him up.
