but throw in andy greg best scrum half ive ever seen in this country...johno best fb by a mile.. dessie best winger by a mile...phile blake most exciting player ever to watch by a country mile..mark roberts best 2nd rower (far better than ive lost my voice dennis betts ) by another country mile..and best coach sir tony smith...if only we had the genius that is tony smith in charge of the players above...wheres the tissues

Can I just raise a point about Bateman, especially regarding being the complete centre. I love batman...he was a class act but he was eternally frustrating in that he NEVER backed himself when clear and rarely put his winger away with a beatifully timed pass. Batman had all the tools but to me lacked a great rugby brain. Can never be classed as a complete centre in my eyes

I wish we had that incomplete centre in our team now.

Bateman could've been phenomenal instead he was just very good imo! Lack of a killer instinct
