Mark of a good team

Never in doubt.

Make no mistakes, best team lost, but if we can play that badly and win then we’re only going to improve and things will get better.



So glad Powell is honest about it in the interview. Better than the old ‘I know what type of a team I’ve got here’. He’s not happy with the performance, but happy we found a way to win.

As others have said, we did not deserve that.

Leeds were the best team in far too many departments.

In the end the extra man was JUST enough.



Forwards an issue.

A few silly penalties.

Dont think too many of our players would be too happy with that. Some basic skill errors cost us 3 tries.

Hope Daryl is ok, but I guess we wont see him Thursday.

Walker did ok though. (Dwyer created mayhem though).



There is character in the team and that is good to see.



Leeds effort was excellent and they will have a good season.

I thought we looked much more incisive when Walker was on, Clarke looked a bit rusty, and Walkers deep kick from dummy half swung momentum. But we certainly dodged a bullet, and were fortunate to win.



Charnley will do well to retain that right wing berth.

Our last match under him, was a 0-19 hammering, where we were lucky to get 0.



Maybe we've got a touch of the old Dunkirk Spirit about us, now.

Never drop a try scorer, even if my dead granny could've scored both

Clark was out of sorts. Walker wasn’t perfect but provided much more energy and speed of distribution. Hopefully it’s a one-off from Clark, as he rarely has a bad game.



One thing I found really interesting is that Pryce (I think) or Amor was tipping Walker to be the England hooker come the World Cup.



Regarding Charnley, Thewlis could easily have scored both those tries and probably defended the Leeds try from the kick. He’s also handy if Ratchford gets injured mid-game.



Wrench, despite the mistakes, looks a potential match winner.

Moral victory though for Leeds.



Wire Saints and Wigan. All 2 points. There’s your 3 for 2022.

The determination & enthusiasm from the Leeds team was immense with every one of them desperate to do their best with every run or tackle & it made a difference to both teams yardage gains. Dwyer caused all sorts of problems.

Entertaining game which I suppose is the most important thing, what with the C4 rollout.

Congrats on the win, neither side was great but all the signs were there that both will get better.
