I went to London Broncos vs Halifax yesterday and got a good look at Matt Davies.



He is keen, energetic and, in build terms, is a slightly more solid Benjamin Jullien. He put in a number of heavy hits on the big Halifax pack, with one going too high and costing his side a penalty.



I have a big question mark over his size as a SL-standard prop, and Wires71 and Lefty will be calling him rude names before we are even done with pre-season friendlies. But he is a hard worker, has a bit of footwork and can get a pass away.

Signing for us as a backrower not a prop I think.

That's great, sounds a lot better than King and Crosby anyway. He does play second row or loose forward at the moment so wouldn't actually be worried about his size.

Looking at off contract SL props I think Anthony Mullally hasn't signed a new deal yet. I think he would do a really good job for us.



Also coming to us would certainly put him closer to family.

nah, i'd steer clear of him, he's been highly rated ever since coming back from oz but underwhelming, he's part of leeds problems up front this year.

When did he play in oz?

Me neither, he was good at Hudds and I thought he was good at Wakefield also! For whatever reason he just does not seem to have kicked on and fulfilled his potential with Leeds. Biggest vegan I have seen.



I think he would be a decent signing for most SL clubs outside of the top 5/6 but I do not think he is quite good enough for a team with top 4 aspirations.
