| I just thought we were a little lethargic today lacking impetus to win the game. At 18-12 I like others thought we would go on to win the game but on the back of their next try we looked shocked and couldn't find the simple answer in how to regain a stronghold on the game. I'm glad we only have to wait until Monday to hopefully right the wrongs. Hopefully it was just one of those days and we can get back to playing what were capable of. I wonder if this defeat changes the team selection for Monday. I for one would like to see Brett back at full back with Ratch replacing Gareth O'Brien, Bridge returning for Evans & M Monnas back.

| Just got home, and still debating with myself on that. At the end of the day we were outplayed by a better side and in the last quarter I found myself getting death stares for clapping the Widnes tries. They deserved them, we didn't it is as simple as that.
The main thing annoying me is the other day I watched that 'wire2wolves' video and all the players (past/present) interviewed were talking about playing for the supporters. I have a 220 mile round trip on the train for games and it feels like at certain points this season, particularly today I haven't seem that. Hopefully after some sleep and further reflection I will look at things differently.
Just to reiterate, well done Widnes thoroughly deserved!

| Quote tino="tino"great stuff from widnes... long may performances like that against us continue
warrington need to buck their ideas up if they want to carry on being considered one of the best teams... 4 trophies in 4 seasons is pretty impressive but if we fade now we aren't going to be remembered for very long
as an aside it must be fantastic being a widnes speccie at the moment, yeah they got smashed last week but i remember the excitement when warrington were in a similar phase... i'd say about the time we moved into new ground, graham appo scored 20 odd tries from stand off, signing gleeson the nxt year i think (not too disimilar to hock signing), danny lima doing his dj-celebration etc.
the team is now better but was much more interested in the regular rounds back then
if widnes can kick on like we did, we can stay up there, and the future of the derby is as a top of the league clash i'd be well happy, although i'd prefer us to win, obviously
top post best of the day wiiiiiiiidnes'"

So O'Briens the scapegoat now, been Myler for years, there's a few on that pitch that could of been the scapegoat today, Hodgsons not been playing well & as for Atkins

| I would class myself as a fairly intelligent fellow who has breathed on a Guardian and occasionallywatched bbc4. However I would like to express my dismay at the pilloring of the young fans who dared throw a plastic bottle in the direction of a half d Warrington side in our one true Derby. I don't condone it in the slightest but the pious hypocrisy from our fans today was pitiful to watch..yes you Tony T. Passion misguided or not was woefully missing from both players and fans today..for shame. Im sure the bigger picture of losing to a lesser side in six months is responsible...had Widnes been any good I wouldn't be d, but they weren't

| Quote Warrington Wolf="Warrington Wolf"Well done Widnes in your cup final. If you watch the TV the last weekend in August you will see us in our cup final.
I would seriously look at Briers and if he's out or the season then deregister him and get another player in. I know it was O'Briens first game but he was way below his standard he set last year.'"

Judging by the way your fans were cheering your trys and moaning every call that went against them, I don't think it was just a pre season friendly for Wire.

According to Smith, it was the ' Gareth Hock show' today .
I really rate Hock, but was he as good as your coaches comments on the BBC website ?
