| I never wrote anything about a "contract"! I said only what I new about, that was that hock said, that there was talks.
Once before the loan deal to widnes and another more recently.

| Quote Warrington Wolf="Warrington Wolf"Whilst I'm pleased for Penny I'm just not sure it will help sell even more season tickets. Whilst this is a bigger debate for another topic regarding the structure of the game but so far we've lost Adrian Morley & Gareth Carvell with Roy Asotasi (Sp) coming in. What with the alleged other not named departure as mentioned by Gary Skent's to come. I just hope there is another player to be named. (Not including Anthony England)'"
On the one hand I agree, especially if that departure is Hodgson who has been immense for us. However, if the lack of signings means we're pushing our academy lads through, developing a proper feeder system and (as much as I hate to say it) turning ourselves into a Wigan or Saints model, where there seems to be an endless stream of young talent waiting in the wings, then so much the better. It's not that long ago we seemed to be relying on big Aussie imports to keep us going, now we've got a solid core of Warrington lads and if we can grow our local talent base, I'd prefer that to marquee signings for the sake of it.

| I agree with you Blood, there is a different kind of excitement and pride in watching the homegrown kids come through the ranks and shine. Although we must not be too blinkered and understand that the occasional infusion of new blood can be a good thing if it supplements what we have got and adds something extra. It can also put bums on seats if it is the right choice.

| It's a great debate this and one that's worthy of its own thread. It's a damed if you do damed if you don't. It's similar to what that little bloke in charge of the Football Association is asking for. We forget our riches in that we have Dwyer, G Riley and a few others who can step up. I think one thing is for sure "We all trust in Tony Smith"

| Quote rubber duckie="rubber duckie"it wasn't Anderson that let him down in defence, it was king playing a position unfamiliar to him in his first season.'"
It was both and a failure of the edge structure. LAnderson had a particularly issue with jumping out of the line, hitting and not sticking thus causing King to step into the tackle and causing an overlap on his outside shoulder. King also suffered from ball watching and lost shape.

Yes and to complete the picture, Monas was the left side halfback at that time, but obviouly he preferred to drift infield and get involved in the tackling rather than usual practice of halfbacks standing inside or even outside the centre, meaning the left edge was sometimes triply exposed.

No, no, no. It was all Penny's fault.

+1. On his day he was a real crowd drawer. If he's still got that raw paxe and has accquired a bit more RL intelligence he could yet fulfill all that early promise.

| The great thing about this signing is pretty much everyone is willing him to come good..... when he runs out for his first game back in the first team he will get a tremendous reception... it should fill him with confidence. He could explode back onto the scene like he did in his debut season.

| I am sure you are right, he will get a great reception when he runs onto the field. But other than the warm-up games, it might be a while before he gets a game. He is the reserve winger. Unless TS is going to use him a little more frequently (than Williams) in order to push Riley and give him some competition ?

I wouldn't bank on it, deckchair.
There'll by plenty in the South Stand, giving him dog's abuse. Helmets.
