| Serious question. Does anyone else's line manager or company director say "we can't tell the staff they are well below what is expected, it will lower morale?"

Do we all suppose that the comments given to the media are the same things that are said to the players on a one to one in the sanctity of the training ground or managers office?
If you underperformed at work do you think you'd appreciate an arm round the shoulder chat or if warranted a rant in the office behind closed doors or a letter to The Guardian? What would work best?
All you hang em flog em types can't be captains of industry it won't work there isn't an endless supply of labour you need to find a way of creating next weeks hero from this weeks zero and a lynching isn't the method I'd choose

TS has always been a bit nondescript in interviews (mostly with Sky). I think most coaches (and players) are, but TS more than most; he really doesn't give much away.
As infuriating as this is for the fans, I am fairly confident in saying that his comments are not necessarily reflective of what is said in the changing rooms/at training.
To respond directly to your work comment: it is one thing for you to get told to buck up in the office, but I'm sure you wouldn't see it fit to have your boss reem you out to the rest of the company and your clients.
EDIT: they said on Wire FM today that TS was going crazy over something today, flailing his limbs, shouting and looking very agitated. I think this is probably more accurate than his interviews with the RL media. Anyone know what this was about?

| If I had a bit of cash I'd buy the club off Simon Moran and then I could go on Twitter like Koukash
"Today was not acceptable. I want to promise all true Wolfolution fans that changes will be made! You have my solemn word!"

I heard he was on the receiving end of a wasp attack - TS is well known for his dislike of flying insects and its believed that this was what this incident was about.

| I heard a reporter asked this question:
"you lost your star half back before the season started, how big a loss is he"
Tony Smith banged on about "bringing youth through.... giving people a chance to step up... its a long season.... injuries.... when the weather gets dryer.... blah blah blah..."
the reporter then said ........" and the Same Question to Darryll Powell please"..........

| Our ruthless, clinical performance makes a mockery of the prediction thread on here. "Wire by 20".
On a positive note though for you guys I thought Kevin penny played well and with the bottom 2 losing again you should be safe this season.

| We were beaten by clearly the better side... We can just go round in circles week after week cant we?... No decent half back, no kicking game, no organisation, an awful static clueless attack and a toothless set of forwards without Westwood (Hill apart).
A good HB (or 2) with a kicking game, a new hooker and a couple of nasty forwards and were back in business. That wont be this season though.. so for now we just have to accept a 5th/6th place finish

| Warrington have won Challenge Cups recently, a League Leaders Shield and contested two Grand Finals, we have a better stadium than Cas and more money by a long way and this has clouded a lot of peoples judgment, people seem to think because of all the things I mentioned we have the devine right to beat Cas. The truth is we don't, you have to work for each other and we aren't doing that.
We've been incredibly naive, let too many people go at once, promoted players with very little SL experience and recruited average this year.
We are woefully behind Cas on the field regardless of our recent past, give them credit I've seen them on tv and I watched them v London live and they've been a joy to watch.

| Best team won on the day, no arguments from me. We were woeful and Cas took full advantage of that as they are clearly a really good team this year. The only players to come out of our games who can hold their heads high for me are Hill, Higham and Waterhouse.

| Kev Penny did nothing wrong to be fair, returned the ball well but should've strolled in for the opening try when Tansey flattened him.
Can't put my finger on what you guys did wrong today, just way off the pace all over the field which was really surprising from a side coached by TS.
Waterhouse threatened and Hill ran well - Asotasi carrying a bit IMO
The right-side defence of Evans(?) and Monaghan was dreadful - JM didn't look fully fit considering how threatening and robust he usually is.
Probably our best performance of the season to be honest, we are capable of mixing it with the big boys but 40-6 is pretty outrageous

To be fair, Russell didn't spill one bomb in a swirling wind and some of them were huge!! So i think he came out ok yesterday. Atkins looked like he wanted it and ran the ball in hard. It's a shame we have such a dearth of creativity and are unable to open up defences and put players like that through gaps.

The problem I have with Russel is he has no idea how to link into the line, returning the ball he's fine, but he rarely links into the attack and when he does he takes the wrong option...
