If we it our thumbs in enough buckets...eventually we'll come out with a plumb.

We have had too many false dawns for me to get too excited about this. I just hope this will not be another to go alongside Gidley, Sandow and Roberts as aussie halfbacks that have not lived up to expectations for various reasons.

Looking how far the raiders are off the top 8 in the NRL it would be good if we can tempt him over for the last month of the season if nothing else just to get a head start on things but i dont know if that door closed back in about 2006 (or was that just for short term contracts)

Gidley was signed as a fullback. We pressed him into service at 7 when our other halves proved incapable. He did a reasonable job outside of his natural position.

I think we can still sign him at this point in time, I think the start of the 8's is the cut off point these days?



The issue would be I guess we would need to offload Roberts to fit another £175k of salary under the cap, as of 30th June NRL clubs have passed their transfer window, so going back to the NRL early wouldn't be an option for him.
