| Quote Nikaed="Nikaed"Great gesture. It's nice to see that our play and club are appreciated outside the boundaries of local bitterness. The first team to break the big 4 league topping monopoly. Gives hope to other teams that it can be done.'"
Id say we are a big 4 team now

not till you've won the GF ....which i am pretty sure you will this year.
As for the flag business i dont think people quite understand why it was done to you lot....there is a mutual respect between the 2 sets of fans and has been for a while now, most Giants fans consider Wire their favourite away trip due to the ease of getting there ( they must have forgot this week) and the great banter and welcome we always get off you lot inside and outside the ground.
I have never seen any animosity between our fans and every game is always met with congratulations from the others after....that is why we did it.....becasue of our friendship and respect towards your club and your fans.
people think we did it to be grease asses or to earn brownie points but we wouldnt have done it for any other team !!.

I was thinking that myself. Warrington and Huddersfield are connected by a good rail link that means it only takes roughly an hour each way on the train and both grounds are an easy walk from the respective stations. This makes it easy to go on the train which is always the best way to travel to an away, and as there's none of the local rivalry we have with Saints, Wigan and Widnes, and I assume you have with the other West Yorkshire teams, it's just a good day out on the ale.
When you're on the train you're not just getting bussed in and out or having to worry about staying sober for the drive home, so you can enjoy a few bevvies in the pubs in town and by the ground, but without a rivalry you're less likely to encounter someone who's had one more than they can handle and started mouthing off.
I'm not into fan love ins personally (though that's not to say I had an issue with the Huddersfield banner on Friday - it did raise a smile I'll admit) but if there is a reason why Wire and Huddersfield fans get on okay I reckon it's Transpennine Express!

plus i also think that both clubs have 'grown together' similarly in the last few years culminating in the cup final in 09, 2 previously average clubs with average gates etc challenging the big boys which now you lot have managed to crack !!
before that though we were always made welcome at Wilderspool too, 1st time i went i hadn't a clue where the ground was and a bunch of Wire lads took me and my mates under their wing and took us for a few beers and then down to the ground which was a cracking day.

| To dropkick, don't forget the station also serves real ale (although the barmaid is a bitch there and I have told her so much)
I have always liked huddersfield (and I mean liked) as has been said we have grown together and always meet at the big games (final playoff last year ,ad probably this year & the cc final)
I will admit my patience was tried around christmas where the hudds fans camew baiting on here (made wigan fans look sensible) however overall I like the fans!
Thanks guys you made me smile the other night!

| Quote marcel="marcel"Utter comtempt from the giants fans.
Everyone knows in sport hate and bitterness is a sign of respect. Why do you think the most sucessful teams are, generally, the most hated?
You didn't eaxctly see ''well done wigan'' banners when they were winning their umpteenth CC on the trot did?
That gesture from the giants fans is almost like they're saying ''you're not a team we are threatened by, but every dog has it's day so well done''.
Friendly rivalry is better.
You'll be hugging and kissing next, and going along to each others games to support each other.'"

the usual classless Wigan bile...saying it made them sick...someone thought it was "pathetic"....blah blah blah...to be honest I don't tend to retain e..so i can't give you more detail than that!
Not ALL Wiganers were being silly....just the usual childish morons.

| My daughter always remembers coming out of Wembley in 2009 and a little Huddersfield lad (about 6) came up to us and held out his hand "Well done, and thank you for a great day". Says it all.
