Just wondering if the timing of the Millward announcement has made any sense
I actually thought the club would have turned the corner realise its potentials and build on this announcement - I havn't seen it happen.
So why announce such a big signing (and it was a big new item covered in the dailys as well as the local press) and not build on it, would we have been better waiting until mid season or at least keep it fresh in the RFL's mind come franchise negotiations
After all if your Paul Rowley and you get told Millward is coming then you are (rightly) going to think "less than brilliant" of the club (especially considering the games he had upto that point).
Tonights results will have fingers pointing at Paul Rowley (and he's in a results business so no arguments really), however for me the fingers should be pointing further up the "tree" at Leigh.
Our Chairman and board seem totally inept at managing a club, sure they know how to put money in (and no-one is denying without the finance just how bad things would be) but actually running the club is something that has been lacking at Leigh for a while IMO, The potential is huge, the lost opportunitys countless.
Tonights result is the one for me that confirms we are down, the coach will carry the can , I wonder though do our board / directors also need to be accountable - after all its a serious of poor decisions that see us heading down the leagues after being one of the shining lights so recently.
