I'm very sad to see John leave, he did a brilliant job and was an excellent front man for our club. He's a class act.



Thanks for everything you have done John.

But he is still on the board isn't he?

Don't know what's happened but I'm sure there'll be a club statement about it shortly.



It seems to have come a bit out of the blue though.

Why would you when we are on the up?

Must be a good reason or a bad reason - lets hope its the aforementioned one

I wondered about the same thing myself RO. He also tweeted, when asked, that he has left the board.



Very strange.

John has just tweeted me saying that he is not staying on BOM which is a shame but the remainder of the BOM will continue........Whoever ftakes the role has a tough act to follow........... I would like to wish John all the best for the future. Wonder if Andy Mazey is in line for intrim

He has said not staying involved at all, very sad ( and strange ) john has been an excellent leader & figurehead for the club in recent times

oh well it wouldn't be the same at leigh with some kind of mid season bad news to bring us all down a peg or two

I'd like it to be Andy but I don't think it will be, I think it will more likely be Derek Beaumont.

This is indeed bad news, not quite sure about the job being done, only just started. However i guess if he could not give the full committment the job needs, then he has done the correct thing, still very sad, thanks john you have been a rock.

I heard last week that one member now has a majority share on the board. I might be barking up the wrong tree as nothing has been announced about this but I hope I'm wrong in thinking it's something to do with this.

John Roddy was at the last LISA meeting in April and spoke about how well the club was doing and from his attitude you could see he was proud of what the BOM had achieved in such a short time.



I am not going to speculate on his reasons for leaving the BOM because as has been stated on Leigh Centurions Twitter we will find out very soon so I am going to wait for that.



One thing for sure and that is Leigh Centurions are heading in the right direction.

We need an urgent statement from the club before the doom and gloom mongers get hold of the story - there'll be rumours of all sorts around town in no time at all.
