We're in Ibis Toulouse Central on the (lazy buggers) official trip. Not sure whether that's near the train station or not.

| For the ones going Thursday - on official trip.
What does "checked in baggage to be paid for at check in" mean ? I thought all was included, being a package and all.

Oh, that is the Ibis Matabiau. Very convenient for getting the bus from the airport right there. If there are only a couple of you that is the cheapest way to go. A larger group might be better off taking a taxi. Lots of French fast food nearby, and a nice litle restaurant around the corner. Also the baguette sandwich and cake shop around the corner is good for a quick fix. Internet cafe is about three blocks down the road (or was a year ago).
I don't know when Leigh play Toulouse and if any of you will wan to to go to see Catalans vs Salford on Saturday night (8pm?). But you just hop on the train from the station across the street and its about 2 and a half hours pleasant ride. However can't guarantee you will get a train back to Toulouse on Saturday night. There is a good Ibis in Perpignan Centre, about a half mile from the train station. But it could be already booked out with beer swigging Salford Red Devils. Another cheaper option is Balladins Hotel near the Perpigna train station. Ditto about the Red Devils though.

Carcassone has an Ibis. These hotels maintain the same 2 star clean quality everywhere in France Book it online if you can. Plenty of other hotels but I never stayed in them.

| Bloody hell! I just found out that Toulouse vs Leigh is at 4 pm Saturday, and Catalans vs Salford is a 6 pm same day. You cannot attend both.
Very shortsighted planning by the RFL etc. They should have had them on different days so people could go to both. But to be honest the Catalans game could sell out. Last weekend the WIgan game was a sellout 9,400. Next year when the Gilbert Brutus Stadium renovation has been completed, the capacity will be 11,500 so it will be easier for English fans to get tickets.
Well, if you are interested both games are on the Orange TV network. So you need to organise beforehand a place to go, which has Orange TV subscription. I don't know if Ibis does. It will be fun after your game to see the Catalans thump the Red Devils.

Think it's Ryanair policy to have to pay for any 'hold' luggage at check in? 10kg is free of charge as hand luggage though, so guess how one of the flags is travelling?

Yep, learned from this excursion. Noted the hand luggage, but you are limited to what can go in there. Crafty buggers. Well I have my clothes in there and do a spot of shopping in a supermache over there.
Don't suppose you could bring a City flag too.

| I got back from Perpignan on Tuesday and the weather was odd.
It went from rain, to cold and windy, and then to cracking the flags.
It's not quite shorts weather but take them just in case.

| For the people making their own way to the match I have just obtained this from a very nice man called Cédric from the Blagnac stadium. This is his recommended way to the match from the Toulouse train station. He estimates it will take about 20 minutes for the journey to the stadium from Toulouse. A taxi is the alternative but will be pricey.
If you arrive at the train station, the best (and simplest) way to the Blagnac Stadium is to take the subway to the Arnauné Stadium (you have to stop at 'Barriere de Paris' on the line B) and then there are free buses
that will take you from the car park of Arnauné stadium to the Blagnac
stadium.
Here is the time schedule:
- Departures from the Arnauné Stadium to the Ernest Argeles Stadium: 2pm, 2.30pm, 3pm.
- Departures from the Ernest Argeles Stadium to the Arnauné Stadium: 8pm, 8.30pm, 9pm.
He has also confirmed that entrance for juniors (under 16's) is free.
