My personal point of view today is that it wasn't a good game to watch and we were below parr. Not helped by a few stupid decisions and stupid behaviour from a player that should know better now. Someone posted that the only thing that Riddy did today was kick a 40/20. Not far off the mark but a bit harsh. 7 times the ball was slung out wildly when we were in good attacking positions and one where we should have walked in for a match winning try. The ref and his two cronnies weren't much better than us. I had to walk off again today because I couldn't clap those lads off. We are too slow playing the ball and too slow moving up in defence. I am very disillusioned tonight and to be honest was hoping that we could have just raised our game for this one. Don't know where Ryan was but I can't remember him on the field. I wanted to run on the field and pick bloody Martin Aspinwall up to play the bloody ball quicker. We went out with a wimper and I don't think I can travel 60 miles every other weekend to see that crap next season. Sick of it now. Oh and I'm a bit upset.

We've won a trophy, something (one of) Fev, Halifax,Sheffield & Batley might get to do the same. For the last 9 years our season has ended on a $hite note, so what's new. Batley have NO chance of winning the final, we were dire today, Ref was worse, but still outscored them 3 tries to one....nuff said.

Well I stayed to clap the lads off I always do, they tried there hardest and we lost. Gutted for them all.

Some players were playing carrying knocks so don't dish them , they didn't lose on purpose it wasn't our day !

Only one lad can walk with his head held high tonight and thats TG.

Leigh were tactically naive in the closing stages of the game after being clueless for most of it. There was nothing on display today that would encourage lapsed or new fans back into the fold.

We don't agree on much Reffy but I have to agree with that comment. Lynda I missed the NRC final and today I feel like I have been robbed of another good day out watching the team I love. I really felt like sheading tears at the end today.

Nothing certain in life and certainly not in rugby.

I. Never thought we would make it though to the end of the season a few months ago so to win a trophy and still be there or there a bouts at the business end is a bonus.

While I agree on the tactical point, this was a play off game played for the most in terrible conditions, it was never going to be a ' classic ' , and not the free flowing type of match to attract the casual fan to attend in the future, the time to entertain is your regular season games



My criticism is do we stick to a gameplan too ridgidly sometimes, when in conditions like today opportunities open up that can and should be exploited?

Steve. What game plan tells you to pass the ball 5 yards behind the player it's supposed to go to or kick someone in the stomach?
