Why would Ian Watson make a statement to any media like that? Just because he has become Paul Roweys mate? You lot must be mad. Would any one on here make a false statement just because you were their friend, knowing that at some point you could be found out. Ian would be the laughing stock of our game as the lads who play with him and against him week in, week out would know the truth. To add to this now I would like the club to make a full and detailed statement (not just a few paragraphs) that really goes into the depths of what happened to us last season. List it in order of the season. Month by month. Be honest with us for once.

One last thing. Don't think that I am that naive to think that that interview would not have been edited if it had something damning in it .

Take the failings of the past into consideration by all means but I'd rather see a structured plan for the future.

That statement was a way of safe gaurding his final payout i would guess and also as hes going into a coaching role not burning any bridges at Swinton keeping the peace with a club that could offer good links to some of our younger players for loans etc.



I happen to respect Watto and as a thinking player with decent people skills would be a far better option in a coaching capacity than PR has/ ever will be.



Sad to see Watto go as he did well in the championship this year in a poor side and will stand out ni C1 next term.



Dont believe the hype tho the only press that leigh will let out at the minute will be Pro all things Rowley but for every Watson like statement there is 10 to the contary re PR trust me.

Personally I didn't think PR should be at the club any longer but I dont have any evidence that he should have gone other than the results and the fact that he is the only common denominator in the clubs bad form in recent years. What I would like to know is where you get this information that he is as bad a coach as you say. Is it from the players? If so which players? Is it from other staff at Leigh? Lets have facts.

Its not exactly a secret and certain players former players have made no secret of the fact he has been the bad apple at leigh in recent years.

Utter garbage, for every coach I can show 10 players who dont like him. Each players thinks they should be in any starting team, fact is they cant. Coaches have their fans and their enemies.

Watto isnt the only player in last years squad who rates Paul Rowley as a coach, a good few more will back him - their words not mine ask them.



And if people are still using the 'Kelly' argument they are totally out of touch with what has gone on over recent months. Again ask the plyers they are the ones in the know.
