| Quote LeythIg="LeythIg"Either Higson or Dawson should move to centre with brown back at full back and naughton or Hampshire on the wing.
Would bring Burr back in for green and Stewart for Vea.'"
Agree with everything there plus Riddy to do the tactical kicking. Yet again Reynolds fails to find touch from a free kick like he does at least once each match. Also, almost every kick on the 5th tackle was a lame up and under straight to the full back. Then just before half time, the ball finally got to Ridyard who did a massive bomb that went twice as high as any previously from Reynolds. I was convinced the coaching staff would have noticed this at half time and rectify the situation. But no, the same aimless kicking out of hand by Reynolds 2nd half was just as abysmal. Please leave the tactical kicking to the best kicker in the club on Friday-give Riddy a try!!

| Problems over the next few weeks as it's difficult to see how the personnel can change - Stewart excepted, squad seems a bit threadbare at the moment.
Watch the tries a few times and pretty much every Widnes try could have been avoided if our defence had been anything like like it was v saints/Hudds/wire
My lad was in Liverpool on Saturday, and I texted him just before the KO saying I had a bad feeling about this - turned out to be right.
Even after a poor performance we got back in the game twice, and could really of gone on and won it, poor game management and discipline cost us again
If he plays Riddy needs to be more involved
Be interesting to see our reaction on Friday

| There's lots of criticism now because that was by far, our worst performance of the season so far! Had we performed like that against Leeds, Saints, Wire and Huddersfield we would have been murdered!!
I suppose we all expected us to blow Widnes away, I know my Widnes season ticket holding immediate family did because, they wouldn't go!! For those who don't know, that is not how Widnes have played this season which, is illustrated in their league position. They have been without halfbacks all season, prior to our match and, the returning Tom Gilmore certainly improved their play. I don't like Denis Betts and I don't think he likes us? He said; we couldn't get away with playing 'Pennie' Rugby in Super League! I'm not entirely sure what that alludes to however, I think he may be accusing us of foul play?
P@@s off Denis take your win and keep your advice to yourself and, your 3 points!!

| Quote Harold Rigby Jnr="Harold Rigby Jnr"The 8th consecutive match our kicking game has been worse than the oppositon, in fact I would say its the worse in SL.
Why are 80% of all kicks going through Reynolds? I posted last week that he may as well just passed it to Jones-Bishop at Wakefield, he may as well as done the same again. We made 2 decent kicks all match yesterday both of which were executed by Ridyard ?
Denis Betts lost 4 players to concussion during the match and had used up all his subs 10 mins into the second half !And still they wanted it more than Leigh !
We need new impetus and we are badly missing a creative spark. We have now lost Drinkwater until after Easter to compound the problem.
So , I have been critical of Hampshire as a full back but now is the time for him to revert to the role where he made his name as a kid, scrum half. Reynolds can take the FB berth. He has the size for it, defensively sound and played the position previously in SL for Castleford.
We have a few players out of sorts. If Weston has been chomping at the bit for an opportuniity then after that shift, he aint going be hammering on Jukes door for a while again.
Green is 6 foot 4 of garbage and we were warned.
Tickle had his worse game in a Leigh shirt, directly responsible for 2 missed tackles that led to 2 Widnes tries, not forgetting his brain fart penalty at 25.24 when we just looked like we may turn it around but ended up conceding the match winner from it. Vae was not much better.
Dawson is nothing without Tonga at the side of him. Seems half the player.
Big calls need to be made and Drinkwater is a huge loss with a heavy programme of fixtures ahead.'"
Well Harold, I pretty much agree with all that you say! Some Posters have accused Riddy of being 'anonymous' I wonder how many times we would have breached the Widnes defence without him?
I cant understand why posters are talking of signing a young Scrum Half, we already have one, Ryan Hampshire!!
This lad is out of the Scrum Halve mould, he's stocky, tough, eye for a gap and is quick, oh and he has bags of Super League experience, far more than Ben Reynolds!! Someone will come here now and tell me Wane and Powell didn't rate him? the fact is, they had Matty Smith and Luke Gale, England scrum halves available to them!! I would say to our Coaches; open your eyes and put this lad where he should be playing, at number 7!!
As for Ben Reynolds, try him at fullback and, leave all the kicking to Riddy who has served us well, so far!!!!

| I will sum up the first 5 mins. Great kick off gives us head and feed, Dawson has a brain fart and runs it out on the 2nd, we concede a penalty to bring Widnes out of their half and then the score off a short kick as we stay off the half back. That just about sums the entire game up.
Problems. No strike players with Patterson Stewart and Tonga missing. Reduced backline options with Clare and Tonga out. No conductor with Drinky out. No non fed spots free reduce our options to improve the squad, this imo was the mistake in our recruitment as I believe we have plenty available to spend on the cap but do we do that now or before the middle eights knowing they would then be fit for when it mattered?
Which no feds are on one year deals?
I still feel a line up of Brown, Higson Crooks Tonga Clare, Ridyard/Reynolds Drinkwater, Hock Higham Acton, Stewart Patterson Hansen Subs Tickle Hood/Pellisier Hopkins Burr is more than good enough to hold its own in the T8 and certainly good enough in the mid 8's but too many are injured from a small squad that does not have the luxury of 5 years of academy supporting it. Lets face it we will have few options to shuffle at present and playing without a second row will take it out of the grunts and wingers who will be doing the extra shifts
PS We have had Hicks 3 times this season, each time we have lost and the 3 losses have been our heaviest 3. Each time I felt he hurt us in penalty count and how the 10m/ptb was policed - btw we were on Saturday
PPS you shouldn't have a half back making 32 tackles like Reynolds had to do

Mo, I'm glad you left Vea & Green out of your line up. They're has much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

| Vea does very little in plenty field minutes, squad player for me as he takes nothing out of the opposition. If on a one year deal then I would look to ship him out somewhere and bring in a stand off with real pace from Aus, together with a centre if Tonga is going to be out much longer - pity as he is pure class. Only heard rumours on Patterson which aint good, health is more important than RL

Cheers for that Mo. You're quite right about health is more important than RL,or anything else for that matter.I hope patto makes a full recovery, whatever the problem is. I only know he had an head injury,so fingers crossed he's ok.
