True, but the other perspective is that with Eorl, Mason, Kopczak, Mulally and Larne that is six props, he can be used sparingly a la Brett Hodgeson at Wire. 15-20 games a season of 30 minutes spelling Eorl (to make sure no repeat of this season when pack fell apart every time Eorl came off), that could be very good.
With LOD, Ta'ai, Chan, Ferres, Bruno, Fergy in the back row I think I can envisage a big dominant pack. Fooey run on hooker and Robbo creating havoc off the bench, the potential is there to smash teams up front, quite a change from last season.

Larne is not a prop. Maybe if the fans stop saying it the coaching team will

| Larne has played far far more first grade at prop than in second row, he has also been selected for England Knights as a prop. I agree he is not a run on prop, but he has been very effective as an impact prop playing short stints.
Only my opinion, but I think he would be higher up the pecking order as a prop than as a second row. He may be a reluctant prop but he has proven very effective there.

You've missed out Fairbanks! Just hope he doesn't get pushed down the pecking order too much -already proved he's got what it takes!

must have been watching a different Giants to me then, he has looked a complete lightweight at prop against good teams.
No doubt he will look great against Ireland amateurs and Scotland championship players this autumn and everyone will hail him as the saviour of the Giants pack.

| Durham he's struggled with injury since round 1. If he's used correctly he will be carving up defences this season and skipping past tomkins again.

But he will be dancing around no one if he spends all his time charging down the middle and being hit by bigger props in the same way that Robbo gets hammered and is less effective when he starts . I would much rather see him playing wider like a second row, using his speed and sidestep and really hurting teams who are trying to hide their halves etc out wide. He is smaller than Trent Waterhouse and look at the impact he has had for wire.
Chan and Patrick at second row with LOD at loose would be a great combo for me.

| Agree with Durham, Larne could be a devastating back rower. No need for him to be a prop now we've actually bought some more.
Also, jools makes a very good point re: Fairbanks. Hope he doesn't drop off the radar now.

| Patrick has withdrawn from the Knights squad so he won't be dancing around anyone on the pitch until next season.
