| It would be a nice twist to unveil the shirt with a new signing modelling it.
I think this takeover has bigger repercussions for the game of rugby league than just London being taken over. I think it points towards the NRL buyout/heist/takeover happening as I don’t think so many would be as keen on being involved with London as they seemingly are. I think it’s much needed and a long time coming. That’s massive news for the sport and the whole make up of the game will be decided eventually. I think that also links into Hetherington’s “London could in Super League next year” and suggests the takeover is happening relatively imminently.
As for London, do the club need a renaming? Do the club need new colours and a new identity and who is going to be consulted on that, as I think fan consultation is vital. While the band of Broncos may be small, I think the opinion of those long-term season ticket holders and members is vital. While an agency will have ideas, I do think it does need to be done in conjunction with fans and that fans may even have ideas that this agency may not have considered. Personally, I hope it’s bold and almost brash. Not quite as tacky as Leigh’s rebrand but I do hope the club look to create its own identity and does away with things like having a V on a shirt because that’s what happens in rugby league.
Wimbledon is a positive. I think it’s probably one of the better venues that has been a Broncos home venue, with the space for fan zones, eateries and its in a nice area with some decent options nearby for food and drink.
The academy is a big one. That needs to be back. You look at the makeup of the squad and it’s heavily London based. Nobody disgraced themselves in Super League and you look at what some have done elsewhere in KPP, Clubb, LMS, McMeeken and Sarginson to name a few and there are some very good athletes around.

| I've had on my fridge since the mid 90s a Broncos magnet. It's a shield with red & white quarters, across the top in black on gold is the word LONDON & at the bottom on a gold ribbon is RLFC. There is also the original gold Broncos head on the shield. That would do for me, I've been trying for ages to include a picture of it but either this site isn't working or I'm too stupid to achieve that. Ho hum.

| why not London Rugby Lessons?
Carlsberg don't do irony.....but if they did....
For those that believe the handful of remaining fans need consulting, you are dreaming. The "core" or as I refer to them, Monkeys Monkey's are the problem.......not one (OK...maybe a couple, eh speechless) stepped up when the club asked for volunteers. If it happens, it needs to involve a hard launch...stickers on Taxis and oyster card wallets wont do it....but a Guy Ritchie type fly on the wall docu-series might......MIGHT get a bit of traction.

| However well intentioned the previous administration was, they failed at marketing the club. It was too small time. For London Rugby League to be a success, the marketing needs to go big.

Agreed but it’s really expensive and you have to keep doing. One ad in the Metro won’t work. In fairness to DH et Al they gave it a spin for the start of the Coleman era, but to my untrained eye, got it all wrong and then, of course, those that turned up were treated to a very, very poor side so opportunity missed. Lots of those avenues to promote things, like local newspapers or indeed the Metro either don’t exist or have much less significance. I think they have to find a way to engage locally, wherever it’s decided local is. Tooting/Merton/Wimbledon. To me they all seem to be different have different make ups and thus different challenges. One bright note is AFC do seem to have tapped into the local area. I see no evidence of it as I walk to ground from Tooting but they do seem to get decent numbers for a L1 side. May of course be that football is much more dominant now but my recollection was they were minnows back in the day so they’ve done something right. Maybe we could learn.

AFC do so much good charity work with their food bank etc, it does give them a higher profile. While not being an expert on all things AFC, I'd be surprised if many of their fans come from Tooting or Wimbledon. Maybe outer parts of Merton & Sutton. But of course as a club they were galvanised by the MK situation & with their ownership model has seen their support grow. I'm not convinced their ownership model will take them higher than League 1 as they would need to generate funds to extend the ground as they appear to be almost at capacity now. They have already had some issues with Bond repayment & we are to believe borrowed some dosh from Hughes.
None of that though takes anything away from how magnificent their phoenix from the ashes route to where they now are has been. I'm sure our friendly AFC man who used to post (can't remember his name) could put me right on some of that.
I would say leaflet drops & social media might be where we start. However, the big issue for us will always be that for the weeks in the summer we need to be at PL, we are in Ebbsfleet or other pointless areas. You can't square that circle I don't think.
