I went, and pleased I did. I agree it's a meaningless cup, but better to win than lose! Probably the best performance of season. At 16-6 I feared the worst but 28-2 response was great, from a very young team.



Defensively they were exceptional, some real do and die stuff on the line. In attack equally good except for a few stupid passes going astray, some excellent tries. Keyes and barthau kicked well.



Referee was poor and missed too many high tackles, BUT he did call a forward pass on a disallowed try which would have got Dewsbury back to 6 points and then penalised Pryce for complaining. Crucial

Superb game, the players gave all they can, and Hendo makes a difference, good to be in a Final, not going to be an easy match, but the Players need to give it everything and it is possible.

To be honest Barnaby your views and thoughts on match day performance are of no consequence, lets leave it at that.



As for the others, most of them with their snide useless contributions dont go to home games let alone away games, have said they wont go to games going forward and seem to begrudge the few of us that still do a bit of enjoyment. Yes, a tin pot shield, but you know what, its good to be in the final, winning mindset and all that. Roll on Sunday.

He can refer all he likes, I stand by what I said about when a win over Dewsbury mattered. Apologies if I can't exactly get it up for the Championship Shield - that said I'm 99% certain to be there as I will be in Manchester on Saturday and overnight .

It maybe harsh but I suspect the fact Hendo is playing post retirement tells a story.

I am not sure I agree. I thought JC was dynamic, led from the front, 2 or 3 'scoots' with decent pace, decent distribution, no mug in defence, caught out a couple of times with the ball and played the majority of the 80. Hendo was Hendo, speed no, but steadiness personified.

I think you've missed the point plumb. I'm not suggesting Cunningham is not fitter or even not as good, I'm making the point that we seem to play better with hendo in the middle as the directing mind! rather than a dynamic hooker scooting away.

When you think that we gave them their first try, their second try the player put his foot in touch when he received the ball, you can see how dominant we were. When they took the two points so early in the second half, we knew it was there for the taking.
