I would use this as an excuse to sack him, not much loss as he's only played 51 games in 3 seasons and played awfully for 2 seasons, give one of the Crusaders boys a contract instead!

I agree, but can you see this sort of enlightened management coming out of RP? I would much rather have Tony martin or Vince Mellars.

I wonder how many of the games he has missed are down to injury and how many are due to disciplinary bans....I bet the latter makes grim reading compared to most.

People talk about the poor coaching of McDermott and Powell, but I think Howell is a prime example of where the skills and talents of a player have been coached out of him. Powell was one of the best centres in SL not so long ago - at one point, it was rumoured Wigan were in for him. I don't think he is finished in the long term - but under Powell and in this current side, perhaps so.

If the Wilkes one is for catching the kicker it is a joke. He was a milli second late and both Childs (for once) and the TJ ignored it despite the whistling that went up from Les Treizistes.

Agree that Howell has been dire this season. Maybe due to injury? He has been one of our stand-out players until this year. If this season's displays are injury-related and it hasn't cleared up, then he should be released.



As for the biting charge, let's wait until there's some evidence to consider.

Think some very short memories here. He was one of our very best until injury and then a complete loss of form this year, i agree with Mr Lister.



On the disciplinary front he was sent off against Wigan 2 years ago, other than that no worse than anyone else?
