Not sure if I got this right but before kick off someone threw a bog roll from the top of our terrace and a jobs worth steward seemed to be pointing the culprit out to a female police officer. After a few minutes 2 male police officers followed by a senior policeman were all involved. Next minute a young lad appeared to be taken out of our stand. Surely he wasn't escorted away for throwing a bog roll?

He was ejected, they were looking for excuses all game to eject Wigan fans, there was one steward in particular that decided to eyeball people for all of the second half and make gestures as if to say "come on then" his steward number was taken and a complaint will be made. They were extremely heavy handed before the game on the turnstile as were merseyside police. The stewards were a disgrace to the saints club

if true agreed, any reason why saints are trying to spoil any pre game build up such as drums and banners it cant be because of HS or no ground would be allowed.

I saw the whole conversation between the steward and the female officer and can confirm 100% that he was thrown out for throwing a bog roll, it took 4 officers and 6 stewards to make the decision. Pathetic

and the saints fans are talking about people rioting because of players celebrating.

I think it must have been the first rugby match where I was padded down before reaching the turnstiles. It was like going through the scanners at an airport and seemed pretty pointless to me.

Absolute jobsworths the lot of them. And what about the copper with the massive stick? How old school was he.

The laughable thing is they were awful at there jobs, they did " thorough" and heavy handed searches on large groups on the turnstile and yet around 100 streamers still made it in to the ground. They were basically bouncers in yellow jackets that would have absoulutely loved an excuse for it to get violent

Extremely over the top stewarding on Friday. Did a really good job as we only managed sneak six cans in! Every effort was made by saints and their bouncers to stop wiganers out singing/chanting their saints counterparts.
