I must say the timing of these announcements lately by Wigan are baffling. We are at a critical point in the season, why announce things now it just disrupts the team even more.

Ha, the club can’t win! The number of comments on here about lack of announcements and now this... tickles me to bits this forum at times!

At Leeds I think they are more selective about who they promote to the 1st team and look for players who do see their long term future at Leeds and in this country. McDermott once said a few years back that he likes to know about his players as people, their interests, their hopes and plans for the future, their family and views on family life, where they see themselves in 5-10 years. Now for all the bad rap and rumours he gets about players not liking him we've barely lost a player we've wanted to keep in the 8 years he's been here. He gets criticised for not trying some youngsters but maybe that's why, look at Jordan Baldwinson, he went to Australia just as he was on the brink of making his debut and came back with his tail between his legs when it didn't work out and people couldn't understand why McDermott didn't give him much of a look in but why give game time to someone who you feel might want to be in Australia in a year or two ahead of another lad who wants to be at Leeds long term.

I never really saw all the fuss about Sutton until this year,seems to have got himself fitter (dissapoints me it’s taken NRL intrest for this to happen) and making much more of an impact.

I sometimes forget he’s only 22 and if Mike Cooper can make a big impact in the NRL im sure Ryan can establish himself too. It’s just a little frustrating that we have had very little for what we’ve put in with him,it’s not like he’s given us a few seasons of good performances before leaving, I would have been happier had he given us another couple of seasons.

I just don't get this



There's about 10/15 who meet up and most home & away games, We all think he's been great last 2 years.

At 20 he was part of a Grand Final winning Team, for me the first 3/4 of last season at 21 for me he was our best player week in week out and in running for player of year (Along with Lockers) and to play 33+ games in 2016 & 30+ games in 2017 (World Club championship winner also) is fantastic.

Knowing how Wigan now operates this will be followed by some good news just to offset it.

I wonder if the players now know who will be head coach next year? Maybe we can expect an announcement that JB is staying put?

Not so good player all of a sudden has a great season witch coincides with NRL deal,

now will we start to see standard of his performances drop

, It will be interesting to see over the coming months

Its no surprise, we have other important players to retain in my opinion which I hear is unlikely because there is a list of 6 that need to be moved on.

He has been our best prop this season by quite a margin and for me h has ben our best forward.

So am I, the lad is a very good player and he is going to get better. I said some years ago that he would be an international and I think he is now guaranteed to make it to the top level. No doubt, we will have a lot of supporters moaning about him going - the same one's that said he wasn't good enough!

No surprise, but sad to see him go. Perhaps tellingly, no mention from Rads about a recall clause, such as most of the others had.
