i think i understand both parts of this argument i thought we did defend well but i thought our attack was poor i dont think it was because we lacked cutting edge we just played silly rugby at times and i think we lacked the experiance to play a game out we turned the ball over in good field position for saints and that led to them attacking our line rather than bringing the ball out of thier own half.



i am def proud of the defensive effort and enjoyed the atmosphere of a good old fasioned derby game just think if we had some experiance we could of shut the game down and got a win but its all experiance for our youngsters and will do them the world of good

No use trying to wriggle out of it like that. Having "that cutting edge" and "no cutting edge" are direct opposites. If you think Sam has a cutting edge and Sam plays, then the team clearly does have a cutting edge. You didn't say Sam's cutting edge depended on a halfback partner, or anything else, did you? Anyway, he clearly does have a halfback partner, usually Tommy.

Many Saints fans are saying pretty much the same about the Saints performance. I reckon it's because we both had good defences, so limiting the other team's attacking options. It's easy to have attacking flair when the other team isn't in your face but neither side gave up defensively last night and I think that ensured neither side could really pull out the attacking flair.

its just hard to show attacking flair in those sorts of conditions.



I would say we didnt put the high bomb to the corner enough, but i don't think we have anyone who could put those kicks in effectively except richards. But he would surely be the target.
