| Roberts
Ainscough
Gleeson
Carmont
Pat
Smith
Tommy
Prescott
Riddell
Coley
Hansen
Bailey
Joel
Feka
Fielden
McIlorum
Farrell
Phelps took a pretty hefty knock on Friday so could see him having a week off and that would allow us to see how Roberts goes at full back which is his long term position for us IMO
Might as well give Ainscough a game because for me this is the main way he is going to improve.
Farrell been doing really well in the reserves and 1 youngster is going to get their chance so it should be him

| I would go with
Phelps
Roberts
Gleeson
Carmont
Richards
Smith
Leuluai
Prescott
Riddell
Coley
Hansen
Bailey
J.Tomkins
Feka, Fielden, Farrell, Ainscough
When we interchange Riddell bring Ainscough on put Tommy to hooker and Phelps to SO Pat to Fullback
Think that would shake the opposition up a bit get more speed from the hooker and more speed on the wing when they are getting a little tired

| Quote Jack Kerley="Jack Kerley"And that's the difference right there.
Wigan as a club, and as a central point for the community means nothing to people like you.
How on Earth can it be OUR club if it is packed with Australians, Mongolians or Chinamen?
To be honest, that's a pathetic, win at all costs attitude that has lead us to having a team that has no foothold left in the hearts and minds of local people.
To hear someone say that they don't care if local players play for the club makes me want to be sick.'"
Read again what I posted.
I would LOVE 17 Wiganers in the side IF they are good enough.
Would you like 17 Wiganers in the side if they weren't good enough.
Do you think the JJB / DW stadium would be full to the rafters with 17 Wigan lads in the side who weren't good enough.
Do you remember the likes of Ronnie Dootson, Adrian Foster, David Walsh,Terry Hollingsworth, Billy Melling, Bernard Coyle, Dave Regan, Martin Sivori, Mick Rennox etc.
Do you remember what happened.
Did the crowds flock to watch them?
When we won at Wembley in 1985 and almost 40,000 Wiganers went down to Wembley, how many Wiganers were in that team?

Correct me if I'm wrong but we went to St Helens in the Challenge cup a bit ago. This was the team:
Gleeson (wigan), Dallas, Aspinwall (wigan), Wild (wigan), Carney, Brown (wigan), Moran, Seu Seu, Newton (wigan), Sculthorpe (Oldham ), Allen (not sure), Tickle(wigan), Beswick (wigan).
Replacements: Hansen, Godwin, Guisset, Hargreaves (wigan).
Right, so theres 8 wigan lads out of 17. How did that go? I was there to watch that game, I'm not saying the score, because that actaully does make me want to be sick, rather than saying it for effect.
If you want a clue, google Saints vs Wigan, Challenge cup, June 2005
I want a SUCCESSFUL WIGAN, and yes, it would be great if every player was born and bread wigan, and wouldn't leave the side for love nor money, as well as being a clone of Farrell, Offiah or Hanley but it isn't going to happen. I would much rather sit through a win agianst Saint helens with a team full of Icelandish players than sit through that crock of agian, don't know if you went or not, but I did, and I stayed 'til the end, it was the worst rugby performance I've ever seen.

the sculthorpes are from oldam IIRC, but your point is about right. The best players for your side, not the best local players
