Which is a 27-round league, meaning that they ARE in fact additional fixtures.
Otherwise, either Wigan or Saints would have to pass up a 14k (Saints) or 25k (Wigan) crowd, for a 1/6 share of the takings from a crowd of around 30k (most paying vastly reduced ticket prices anyway - e.g £15 for 3 matches = £5 per match).
Don't kid yourself - These are an extra round of fixtures that mean that our league can NEVER be a fair fight. |

Why don't they wait till the weekend before fixture is over, then play 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th and so on.

It's the RFL, they're not interested in fair, they just want to get as many attending as they possibly can, in a vain attempt to justify its existence. |
