While he's had a wandering eye and taken the wrong cough medicine in the past, Senior has a record of being very professional within in the rugby environment. I've also encountered him on numerous occasion during the day around Headingley and he's courteous and mild mannered, unlike some others with him. During Long's infamous 3 Nations flight back from NZ to Aus it was Senior who was the one trying to calm him down from being a backside and apologising to other passengers.



However, unfortunately he "went" a couple of years ago for me so don't think he'd be a good signing at all.

We should have signed him in 1999, so doing so 12 years later is compounding the mistake.



I can see some merit in farming him out to Leigh to prove his fitness first, but in his book he seemed to rule this option out.

We're short on experience at centre, but we've got Carmont, Goulding and Gelling. Hopefully when Carmont doesn't play the one who misses out will take his place. If we need another centre we either recall Marsh or switch Charnley to centre.



That's our cover at centre, we don't need a veteran for a quick fix. We'll need some young outside backs to come through the system in the next year or so and that means using the young players to fill in when there are injury problems. We need to be looking for potential long term solutions, which means no Senior.
