I think I'd like to see the 1,6,7 and 13 combination that will be starting against Leeds in the semi to start the Wakey game to get abit of fluency in the play. I'd like to see 1.Murphy 6.Tomkins 7.Finch and 13.O'loughlin. Therefore just for the Wakey game especially whilst Micky's being rested I'd have Matty Smith at 9.

I know Smith wont be able to play against Leeds,but he would give us an option to rotate Sam and Finch as well as giving Logan a rest during the match against Wakefield knowing himself that he (Smith) would have a weeks rest after.

The more I think about this the more I think it is the way we should go. Smith will be having his 1st and only training session with Wigan tomorrow, he probably won't be completely up to speed, plus he can't play next week. Spell him with Logan (never an 80min hooker yet) and give a Murphy, Sam, Finch, Lockers combination game time ready for next week.



Surprised Hughes as been omitted, has he picked up a knock. Didn't do too much wrong when switched to centre last week and has been playing well as a SR. He at least provides cover if Goulding or Carmont need to come off.

I thought MM's was a grade A offence with a maximum of a 1 game ban which became no ban if an early plea was made - ie he couldn't have missed the semi-final even if he had been found guilty. Hence he has now wasted his early plea possibility for the next 12 months and is still missing one game (admittedly now through injury rather than a ban).
