Would have missed my first home game in 9 years (IIRC) (And prior to that miss it would have been a further 5 years!) and now I won't!

It would have been even worse if you'd got to Wembley as playing 5 days before the final would have been a non-starter. What would have happened in those circumstances, Thursday evening?

Everton v Manchester United live on sky that night which will keep away the floating fans.



Don't know why the game couldn't have been the following Friday. We have no game the following weekend.

Fridays/Saturdays>Sundays/Mondays

Dont get me started . Thought it was a stone cold certainty to be on Friday night after the Latic's game was moved to Sunday for TV . Another hotel booking down the swanny and an extra day off work .

I thought we could play Friday if Latics are playing Sunday?

Usually we can but he will be playing silly beggars with it being opening game.

Stand to be corrected, but I presume the RFL wouldn't want the focus on the CC Final be partly deflected by a SL game the night before?

Well that scuppers my plans. Was planning a weekend up north, now can't afford the extra day off work now.

Just to compare and contrast the issues at the DW with what happened last season at the Liberty.



Despite having very little cross-over, there were 3 instances when both football and rugby played the same weekend. No rugby dates were changed to fit in, and there was mix between which game was played first.

Please note Mr Whelan, that even on a Bank Holiday period they were able to turn the stadium around in 1 day !!

Dave Whelan was fine with it, he was going to allow it because they have 42 hours to sort the stadium out. It was the Premier League that wouldn't allow it, they required 48 hours so our fixture had to be moved.

It will be due to the TV, press coverage and the expected hospitality imo. The PL dont want to take any chances with Chelski being the new European Champions.

Somebody had better tell Swansea then, as ShortArse has just provided examples of this so-called Premier League 48 hour diktat being broken.
