| Quote Kernel="Kernel"Im absolutely fuming about JT possibly turning his back on his hometown team like judas, but thats nothing Wigan can control. A very sad day but if they dont want to play for Wigan they can get stuffed as far as im concerned.
Would like to see us sign another prop and DEFINITELY a centre.'"

I'm assuming he's referring to Garry Connolly. I can't for one minute believe he's referring to Andy Farrell in that tone.

He's played both RL and RU, he's your new Assistant Coach. Known as Judas when he left Wire, the name was resurected by Leeds fans when he went to the dark side.

| Quote Steinlager="Steinlager"The third option is to recruit young RU players. This was mooted by IFL at this weeks press conference and earlier on this season. In fact I believe our chairman is actively seaking some form of salary cap dispensation for signing young RU players from the RFL.
Given that we could potentially be employing a Welsh RU legend and the Welsh National RL coach, it would seem to me IFL has a plan to source and nurture this talent in the South of Wales.'"
I would imagine they will all be queueing up at the prospect.
Not a chance of recruiting any half decent ones. If IL thinks there is then he is living in cloud cuckoo land.

| Is a bit early to ask is everyone happy. Im happy with the announcements so far. Im not so happy about the rumours though but they arent fact yet so some of them may not happen with a bit of luck. Even if they are true I will give any player who signs for our club my full backing and hopefully everybody does the same.
Whatever happens i will still be there next year enjoying watching us play. Weve still got the core/basis of a very good team and have the best future prospects coming through so the futures bright imo.

| Not happy. Can't remember the time that I have been as depressed about the future of RL as I am now.
The sad thing is I knew it was coming. That said, still doesn't make me feel any better.
I guess it has had 100 years as a first rate sport. Maybe that was always it's destiny.

So not only do we have a player that's going to wind-up the Dire and Whino fans (well until he decides to join his brother), we have someone on the coaching staff as well. Happy days.

We'll probably attract those players who are struggling in RU because they don't have the required body shape. I certainly won't be complaining if we uncover a James Graham of our own, which there's every reasonable chance of, seeing as someone of his shape isn't suited to RU in the slightest.
I'd agree the threequarters would be very difficult to poach. But then again you never know. Those two twins at Warrington chose RL over RU because they enjoyed the game more. There's nothing to say that can't and won't happen again.

The thing about that is if you get a young Welsh lad coming to Wigan from RU, we train him up to be a top quality player then RU come in and he goes to RU whom he grew up watching and wanting to play pro. Very good idea but we would end up being a development camp for junior RU players, like a Sandhurst of Rugby.
End of the day the RFL need to get their head out of their @rses and sort the International game out, starting with proper tours down under, rasing the salary cap or allowing 3rd party sponsorship of players up to a certain ammount per player.
Run the SL alongside the NRL and have the WCC 2 weeks after the GF and swap and change inbetween the 2 countries or even just have the top 3/4 sides from each league to battle it out and cut short the playoffs as they're not working, have the top 5 sides in the play offs.
Change the Challenge Cup back to where it belongs

Judas would only cost 13 pieces of silver - shouldn't dent the salary cap that!
Does he play centre!

Talking about Chris Ashton actually. Got no probs with Connolly And Faz went to the retirement village. If Shaun Edwards still had boots i imagine he'd be starting full back at Wasps now
My problem is, I am sick to death with people who harp on about being "through and through", then at the slightest sniff of money jump ship and abandon all morals. I sat at a meal next to Joel Tomkins less than 3 years ago and he was telling us how it killed him watching from the stands as Wigan got battered, having to go and play at Widnes instead etc and how much he'd love a crack at it etc. Now look. Either accept your bleeding mercenary or stick with your club, the thing you've wanted so much to have.
Anywho, I think if we WERE to lose a position, 2nd row is probably the one place im more than happy to do so (Hansen, Hock, Farrell, Tuson, Mossop can all play there) to name but a few.
