| Quote Fames="Fames"Micky Mac's early plea of guilty to avoid suspension now seems to be a waste as he's missing the Wakefield match anyway! He's now lost the right to make this early plea for the next 12 months.
Wonder if he can be cheeky and retrospectively withdraw his early plea as he'd only get a one match ban!'"
Well not really as he could have ended up missing the semi final.

I think Smith will do some game time at 9 unless things are going well and Logan can do the full 80

I have a feeling they may need it.
As an aside I think that the suggestion by DP_WWRLFC is a good one for the Wakefield game.
Murphy 1.
Tomkins 6.
Finch 7.
Lockers 13.
Smith & Logan Tomkins 9.
I know Smith wont be able to play against Leeds, but he would give us an option to rotate Sam and Finch as well as giving Logan a rest during the match against Wakefield knowing himself that he (Smith) would have a weeks rest after.

The more I think about this the more I think it is the way we should go. Smith will be having his 1st and only training session with Wigan tomorrow, he probably won't be completely up to speed, plus he can't play next week. Spell him with Logan (never an 80min hooker yet) and give a Murphy, Sam, Finch, Lockers combination game time ready for next week.
Surprised Hughes as been omitted, has he picked up a knock. Didn't do too much wrong when switched to centre last week and has been playing well as a SR. He at least provides cover if Goulding or Carmont need to come off.

I thought MM's was a grade A offence with a maximum of a 1 game ban which became no ban if an early plea was made - ie he couldn't have missed the semi-final even if he had been found guilty. Hence he has now wasted his early plea possibility for the next 12 months and is still missing one game (admittedly now through injury rather than a ban).

It is indeed, but who says that that will be the 1 6 7 and 13?

for next week Macca in at 9, Charnley back on the wing and hopefully either prescott/lima back for the 4th bench spot.
For tomorrow I'd like to see thornley given a run out at centre, if he is going to be considered for the centre position next year he is going to need a shot there. Plus I would be more comfortable with Goulding on the wing.

| Smith should be on the bench tomorrow as we need to work on the halfback pairing that'll play in the semi final. Given we've only got one game left before we play Leeds it has to be Locky and Finch now. The more they play together the more chance we have of it working for next Saturday.

As much as I think the main importance in the long term is to keep Sam at fullback, we should probably move away from that in preparation for the Leeds game. I think this because it's important to keep Lockers at 13 if we can as it is his best position, and if it means moving Sam for two games max then it is something Wigan should try. Murphy looked solid enough at fullback to to trust so we should be reet, especially with Charnley to come back in to the three quarter line in the cup and Micky Mac to come back as well which will allow movement in the pivots without disrupting as much.
