Love a good old bit of derby banter! Even if it is the 6th this season and 5th in the same competition! Only in RL!

It's the first game in a good while theres been plenty of quality banter. I think Saints fans haven't felt too confident going in to the last few but they've perked up after last week and think they're in with a great shout (which they are).



We on the other hand went through years of knowing the result of these games before they were played and if a few of us have shown plenty of confidence this week maybe it's because we want the boot to now be on the other foot. We believe in our sides ability, we have shaken off that inferiority complex that left us quivering with nerves going in to these games and we believe we're the better side.



The rivalry should always be friendly in nature but not to the point where it takes the edge of wanting to win that much it's scary and it was in danger of going that way. I think they need to look at the format of the plays to make sure games like Wigan and Saints aren't over-played but the derby feels like it's back to it's very best this week.

If Wigan lose on Saturday I will stay and give Madge and the team a standing ovation for everything they have done for this club this season.

Saints v Wire would mean me not going to final for the firrst time in years. Will watch it on TV if thats the case.

The first final I managed to get to was last years, but like you say if it's Saints v Wire I won't be going either.

Whats better about finishing 2nd over 3rd 4th ect,isnt it obvious ? its money the higher you finish the more you get,the more chance you have to appear in a grand final ( even if you lose ) the better sponsorship you can get,people will pay that bit more to get their name/logo on tv at the big occasion.

Never wanted us to lose more in my life - I'd much rather watch a Grand Final that could be a classic between Wigan and Warrington than another disappointing one in which one team is clearly not on a par with the other. This Saints team has done well in finishing third and remaining some what competitive at a time when the club is under going massive transitions, however I feel a Grand Final will do more damage than good to the current team. Of course the unthinkable could happen and we could go all the way, however I every much doubt it.

Well all that extra money has really helped the saints . Club is massivley in debt. chairman wants the ground open asap so he can plug the life out of it to try and get some money into the club ect. saints have lost a fat wad over the new ground.



Dont get me wrong i understand ur point but to 90% of fans, Rugby is all that matters and results on the pitch.



Wigan as a club has been more cash secure for years than saints, But it dosent show in silverware.

Ridiculous thread, whilst we were slumming it mid table and battling relegation Saints were playing in Grand finals, id certainly have swapped with them.

Me too. Its alright saying I wouldnt of bothered after losing in the final but anybody with half a brain cell would jump at the chance of a final.

Correct, its just plain stupid to have a pop at Saints in the SL era when they have been quite clearly the more dominant of the 2 clubs by a distance. However, the worm has turned as of late.
