Just assume for one minute that we have new owners and that we can get a new licence for 2012 onwards, with NM secured.... put your dreaming head on!





Now just who would be your number 1 landmark signing - the one that makes the statement to the RL world that this club is serious in its ambitions to once again mox it with the very best the RL world has to offer?



To start things off I will give the first name that came to my mind - =#BF0040Gareth Ellis! Some may deem him not right having once left the club, but I reckon he left with no cloud over him and for the right reasons - which was to better himself. May not be the primary play-maker required, but I reckon he can see out his years and provide steel and leadership to any squad in the world.



That's my first pitch - I know there will be some good suggestions, so I reserve the right to change my mind.



Main thing is that I just wanted to dream about what goes on the pitch rather than dreaming in paper excercises, concrete footings and plastic seats for once!

Whatever team we were to put out I would want there to be an absolute maximum of 3 overseas players.



That said it would be difficult to assemble an all conquering team made up of UK based players, you would have to have that little something else that made the team the best. Whether that's a fighting spirit, homegrown pride, advantages in preparation that other teams don't have, real competition for places in the team etc.... or a bit of all of the above.



I'd have Darren Lockyer for a season, despite his age, build a tradition (Wally Lewis) of the premier Queensland & Australia half back playing for Wakefield at some point in their career.

As Clan says i'd like to have the side filled with British player, the majority of whom to come through our own development systems. If we get a big money backer, i'd hope that the youth development gets a load of money pumped into it.



I'd rather we went for Thurstan than Lockyer!

I'm with Clan - I'd like to see the squad filled with quality English players; I'd take Gareth Ellis and Sam Burgess for starters.
