| Team didn't put a foot wrong last week against Catalans so why does Agar make changes to accommodate the utterly average Rhys Lynne? One break against London and hes now a Keith Senior or a Greg Inglis. Agar's baffling team selections and favoritism toward certain players is getting a bit irritating. Exactly why he ended up alienating the fans at Hull. How can Lynne and Molloy walk straight in the squad with hardly any game time yet likes of Cowling, Trout and Mariano get farmed out, this must be doing wonders for their confidence. I heard Agar was approached for the vacant Cas job I'd have driven him myself.

| Hard to disagree with the team selection part tbh...
But lets not go bagging him again. He has done a pretty good job so far and think he can take us further still.

| Lynne is a passenger, i put more effort in tonight than he did.
I know the "Agar knows best" bunch will be along but you can't defend his performances.

I'm sorry to say, I don't think he can. We were a poor side for 2/3 of last year and Agar's team selection and tactics were a big part of the story. I gave Agar credit when it was due; we seemed to have turned a corner. Then we start this season not much better than the last and Agar and his team selections get back to mystifying. I am beginning to think he just got lucky and got his hand forced into playing people like Mariano, who is a far better player than his little pet player chums who walk in the side. As for Lyne...any coach who cannot see how out of his depth that boy looks is not worth his salary.

| Lyne was doing well at the beginning of the year. He has lost confidence (the injury? who knows) he needs to start backing and believing himself!
If you look where we were last season to where we are now then you'll be pleased, others teams have improved also putting pressure on us. Its funny how people start slating team players when they know nothing behind the scenes etc. Yes I believe Mariano is a good player, better than both Mellars and Molloy as what I have seen but if he has attitude problems when it comes to training or whatever then he should be tought a lesson. If you look at the quality and amount of money Hull FC have within their squad they should be beating us by alot more than that! Their defence was solid tonight and thoroughly deserved as I believe we didn't turn up at all, when we started to step it up a gear they closed down, Smith, Wood, Cockayne and Fox.

| The question in the thread title is mind boggling really.....
The difference in what all 3 can bring to our side when on the field of play is unreal....
If Mariano has attitude/training problems then that's up to the coaching staff to earn their money and sort it out and get Frankie on the field of play doing what he does best.....a crying shame really.....
On the selection tonight.....it was maybe a call to Reece to say go on lad prove all those at Hull wrong......it didn't work and he needs his confidence building back up.....he wasn't the only player to be short of his best though.....think he still has potential....

Got to ask how did Agar get his hand forced into playing people like Mariano last year, who when fit was just about always in. Also who are these pet player chums you speak of? Over reaction or what.
As for Lyne he played really well in the first few games and looked like a very good signing, we even had a few threads about him but he has seemed to have lost his confidence of late. Wasn't it hull earlier in the season where he had his other poor game, coincidence?

Hard to argue with that - he looked totally over-awed tonight; the few times he did carry the ball, he was finding the ground before the tackler laid a hand on him.

As I recall, Mariano couldn't get a look in in Agar's plans 1st 2/3 of season, though I stand to be corrected. Suddenly he got picked and was a major eason we did so well in my view..then here we are again and he's off to Featherstone. I read there have been attitude problems...well we don't know what goes on behind closed doors I suppose, but I'm pretty sure Rhys Lyne does not look ready now for SL and I'm not sure he ever will. He reminds me of someone like Paul White. Loads of pace. Can rip a side up in the championship but is just too lightweight fo SL. I may be wrong about the future, but at the current time he he an obvious weak link in the side and should not be playing. We seem to have binned players like Mariano and Ellis who made us look a stronger side. We now are back to Wakefield light, as we were early 2012. We were very good v Catalan...and Agar tinkers and brings Lyne back

If I remember rightly he was injured at the start of last season for the first 7 or 8 games or something, played 15 games last season in the end.
