We do seem to get more than a fair crack from Hewer.

I couldn't see any grounds to overturn it - he stole the ball 1 on 1 in the act of making the tackle; quick thinking from SL's daftest lad - and more grist to the mill of his growing legendary status amongst Wakey fans.

I like Hewer, lets a lot go but for both sides, don't know why he doesn't get more games.

I suspect because he's out of shape, slow and not especially well equipped to referee a game at SL speed.

I think they're all much of a muchness - they do a ridiculously difficult job, in very difficult circumstances, with very little help from the structure that is meant to support them; so when it looks like they're making it up, I think that's probably because they are.



It's tough - we need them, and we want them to be perfect - so we have expectations of them that are absolutely and totally unrealistic, given the restrictions that exist.

But apart from that?

Maybe it is a sign of how little coverage the Challenge Cup has now that you can't find highlights online. The only ones you can find are for the televised matches.
