Widnes got the nod because they had the best set up so dont talk stupid. A much better set up than Wakefield.

On RFL getting the best deal... It's 2 weeks before the season kicks off, how strong a posistion do you think they where in?







Alternatively if it wasn't for Widnes bringing Stobart into RL the RFL may not have had a reputable title sponsor for SL!

We can't really judge the set ups in honesty as your business is less than 12 months old and as with us won't have an idea how well run until 2nd set of accounts done. And in terms of crowds we haven't kicked off in SL yet.



Both sides have good and successful youth set ups with yours ahead of ours in terms of progression which being constant in SL for so long is know surprise.

At the time of admin, a few people posted a rumour on here that one of our potential owners tried a similar thing with us before being turned down and pulling out!

That's why I was expressing faux incredulity.



As for the suggestion (by someone else) that Stobart got the sponsorship for nowt because they were the only player in the game - didn't all SL Chairmen get called to a meeting earlier this week to make a decision about which sponsor to go with? It's clear that Betfair were in the running and there may have been others, not least proswiz or whatever they're called.



It's safe to say that Stobart will have been the best deal on the table and the most palatable as a brand - certainly better than a bookie or a mysterious 'wealth creator' with questionable literacy skills.
