| Quote Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo="Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo"Apologies for the sarcasm but I couldn't resist.
My point was that the Agar situation gives us no cofidence that the Murphy situation will be done for the benefit of "The Club". Ultimately some individual or individuals in a position of control will do exactly as they like and sod the club/fans/potential fans.'"
I think you make a good point in the regards that the appointment of Agar is always (in some fans eyes) going to put individuals in a tight corner, thats for them to sort out IMO.
What we must remember is that with all sports clubs, what's best for the fans, isn't always best for the club, and if the club get it wrong big styleee, then decisions such as the one mentioned can come back and bite HARD!

Glover did say on twitter that Collis is Agar's first signing so I'm thinking RA is in control of the squad now.

I can’t help feeling that he’s had a say in all of the new recruits so far.

| Quote Hennimore!="Hennimore!"From what you have been told ..........go on then do as , as one does vasty name the source
all this Parkin is making me vomit , its getting as tedious as the mystery sheik who was going to pump trillions into the club only he didn't like teddy and vausey wouldn't let him sit on the back seat of the supporters bus.
If parkin wanted to wade in with his size 15 dockers and wave his magic wand bringing in 17 world beaters and Wayne Bennett he would of done , fact is this is planet earth a place you n a few others should drop by a few times .
hope this hasnt started you week off to bad sweetcheeks
'"
Take more than a lame brain like you to spoil my week, don't flatter yourself.
Read it again silly Mutley. I was suggesting Parkin had the kind of cash needed, never said he'd spend it - try harder.
I suggest you join planet earth son, I'm more than aware how RL works and the state it's in. This is in total contrast to you, a person who appears to be mentally disturbed.

can't see how that could be true though. he signed about a week after agar being announced. agar is our third choice man, so unless he was sounded out way before he signed for us then i fail to see how he could have been really involved in the collis deal given that we must have been speaking to him for weeks and weeks. he may have rubber stamped it when he came in, after the deal was done if you like, but i cannot see how he was an agar signing.

| Quote vastman="vastman"Still is the problem. I've said it from the start, AG does not have the money required to do what we all want him to do. This is made worse if what I'm told is true that AG made himself a major obstacle when Parkin wanted in.
Now I'm not saying Parkin would have been better, but I do think money would not be as big an issue.'"
You mean the Parkin that was buying the club and then gave back word at the last minute leaving is us in the proverbial until Glover came in, isn't he the man that only seemed interested only if we were guaranteed SL status, who also seemed to be more interested in Newmarket than anything else.
What you been told then Vastman, please tell because if the dude wanted in he had the chance to buy us for next to nothing in the first place long before Glover was on the scene.

| fat faced fan, I'm only saying what Glover put on his Twitter account. If it is not true then either Glover is lying or someone has hacked his account? Which one shall we guess at?

Gave back word twice as it happens, second time in direct competition with Glover. Someone I know int he Parkin camp suggested that if Parkin got the gig Glover make a big deal of it as was his right. Don't know if this scared Parkin off but it was a stumbling block. It doesn't take much to put these people off it would appear.
However the point is not who is in the right and who isn't, that is missing the point.
If you want us to embark on a Hudds style rebirth then Parkin has that kind of money required IMHO and Glover does not. It's not personal it's how it is. If the figures posted on here are to be believed Glover is worth about a tenth of what Parkin is. That makes a huge difference as far as I can see. Doesn't matter who it is in reality but to improve really quickly it's Parkin style wealth that is required IMHO.

From reading whats out there about Parkin, i dont think he would pull out of something he wanted because of a bit of competition from a double glazing salesman, i think hes made of sterner stuff than that, thats my opinion from a little bit of reading.
He was going to buy LUFC, he was going to buy us, he was alleged to have shown interest in cas and it was reported in the t and a that he was interested in both bradford bulls and city.
I dont know what to believe, of his interests in any of these clubs, all i know is that we have an owner who seems genuinely interested in spending his (modest) income and time at our club trying to make us a better club than he found us in.
He may not be a billionaire russian or a arabian sheikh, he may be a double glazing salesman, but hes what weve got and im fairly thankful for that at present.
The best way for this club to grow is with the people of wakefield behind it, not some sugar daddy with a possible passing interest or ulterior motive.
What makes a huge difference is, ones real and ones not.

| My thoughts entirely. Glover has said he's got a ten year plan for the club which will include home point in money but also us backing the club. He's basically said he's in it for the long haul and there's work to be done

You know I think AG was the best man for the job in any event. I've seen people trying to 'buy' success previously, in RL and football, and it just does not always work.
What I like about AG is that he has apparently thrown his heart and soul to WT (and no doubt money!) but what he has done most of all so far is inject confidence and expectations into the club that we haven't experienced for years. All it needs now is the City of Wakefield to support him!
