How much money does he have anyway? He says he is pumping 2 million in a year, which is a worry.
I think the most sensible thing to do is to exempt players that come through your scholarship / academy from the salary cap. This wouldn't affect Salford too much but imagine the stars Leeds could bring over.
It would seem that the Dr's plan to get more people through the door is to sign high profile players. How about use his wealth to cover the city in Salford posters, flags, bus advertisements, free travel to the ground etc etc kids for a quid.

Don't think we're getting personal, just don't like the way he goes about his business. I'm all for people for Marwan Koukash to put money into clubs like Salford and the game, but they have got to learn how to be respectful in their business. I do think that his attitude regarding signings has improved since last year.
Anyway if we can't keep Smith it's a good job we've got Sammut then.  |
