| Quote Fishermanscap="Fishermanscap"Back on topic, it’s shaping up well, retaining Hampshire has filled a massive hole imo.
Two priorities for me now is a hooker and another prop.
Be very interesting if we start the season with a quota spot free. Sometimes you can pick up the best deals mid season as we did with Fifita and Salford did with Hastings. I’d have no problem with leaving a space open.
At the end of the day it’s not compulsory to have a full set of quota players. It’s not like they always work out anyway.'"
I hear there is a quota player, prop forward been offered to all SL clubs from Hudds, with them subsidising his wages for next season.
Not too sure if we have any interest, he has been pretty anonymous over the last few seasons but was very well rated when he first came over.

| Yes, HB was obvious to me.
Would have been a real gamble going into the season with only Brough and Miller.
We gambled in 2016 with Finn and Miller, but got away with it, as Craig Hall filled in at the end of the season.
A mate of mine (Hull FC fan) said to me a couple of seasons back, that ideally, you need to be able to pick 2 separate teams, to have a really competetive side. As we saw this season just gone with injuries, I don't think he was far wrong, certainly starting 13 anyway

No thank you. Don’t want to do Hudds any more favours after the last player we got from them.

I would agree but going into last season I think we actually had that looking at the squad, lets not forget we actually ran a reserve grade last season as well, I think we were just unbelievably unlucky with the amount of injuries in certain positions.
Does anyone know how the structure for the reserve grade will look next season? With every team mandated to have one, will they almost run a reserve grade SL? Or will the fixtures just be as and when as they were this season?

Ikahihifo? if so not on the past couple of years. Saying that, he's a strange one because before that he looked one of the best Props in the league and most teams would have signed him, with his big meters and tackle busts but I'm not sure what's happened the past 2 years, there's certainly a good player in there and it's not as if he's got old , he's still only 28.

Josh Wood'" personally think kirmo will feature in a few games, if as Chester send in interview he sees arona and kelepi as props leaves us batch westerman and ashurst as starting back 3 with crowther, kirmond, as cover which looks a bit thin, agree with most posters on here that kt is wasted in front row, personally would like to see at least one if not two props more

If he goes with Arona and Kelepi at prop, and assuming Fifita plays, then two from Kopzcak, Green and King will miss out. Kelepi and Ashurst will be in the second row in my opinion, with Batch and possibly Pitts competing for the bench spot.

Unless I misunderstood what CC was saying on Trinity TV he sees Tangonoa as a front rower but I may have got that wrong. Personally I don’t think it matters much as he would be equally effective at both.
I think he said two maybe three more signings but don’t know if that included Wood.
Either way I don’t think he’s interested in any more specialist props unless as I say I got it wrong.
Looks to me like he wants a Swiss Army knife pack with lots of utility and long minutes, which makes sense to me.
I’ll have another listen when I get the chance.
