They can all be better. Problem is Wingers and F/B's are exposed - everyone see's their mistakes. In my experience Wingers are victims of general poor team play. Forwards who allow to much yardage to be gained thus basically lose the game, the opposition kickers being given way to much time and space, inadequate shielding from Centres etc etc.
Everyone loves a flying winger and so they should - but I don't hold with the modern ethic that they are one of the key players - an extra forward and all that guff. In a good side a winger should do little more than support the man, find space, catch and run very fast and beat the man - which in itself is a lot. If the rest of the team are doing there job the winger should be the glory boys. I absolutely hate seeing the wingers run the ball in sometimes three times in a set, to me that is abject failure.
I'm not absolving them of all responsibility but the yardage figures even taking account of the soft yards suggests Fox does more than enough, way more than Mellors ever will - there are a heck of a lot of players ahead of him to bag IMO.
