At the moment we are 7 points adrift of 8th spot and that is likely to be closer to 10 by the end of the season.

However you wish to measure that "achievement", it's very poor.

I know that the margins between 8th and 12 and that big but we have had an extremely poor third quarter of the season. If Mr Agar is not culpable, then who ???

If the other story is true, I guess some stability in at least one area will be seen as a good thing.

If we get relegated next season many of the players will have their contracts terminated. Staff at the club will be made redundant, why should Agar be immune.

If I though for one minute that getting rid of RA would turn us into a top team I'd all for it. It won't though. Tony Smith would probably not get much more from the players we have.

You cannot coach in what's not in there to be coached.

He has his favourites, no doubt about that but generally it's the players fault were not in the top 8 not RA's fault.

No problem with it he is what we can afford . At least we think we will exist in 2 years.

Last year we had a greater degree of luck winning the close games this year not so much , just shows how tight the margins are and to be fair taking away the top 5 there is little between the rest.

We'll be giving them contracts that last longer, but will terminate if we go down.

That's not the same as waiting till the last minute to tell you whether you have a job

I think it might.

Last year we did not earn the 8th place it was ours by default. A year on and some of the posters on here are talking about what Agar has achieved. Achieved !!! he has taken a retrograde step and we are now in a worse position than last year. Last year he had the excuse that the team he was fielding was not of his choice! well fast forward to 2013 and he did make choices and most of his choices have not done well at all. So what's to be done? well why not do what we always do and say well "next year we will be better". How will it be better with no signings and the current squad have been playing together for nearly 24 months with no improvement, not as individuals, but as a team. We want men of iron not men of straw.

Agar to get an extension has got to be some sort of wind up.

Would like to think that with the shuffle round in the boardroom, with a chairman, who someone mentioned is an accountant and hopefully knows a bit about RL, would not be handing out 2 year contracts to a coach who has a year left and is steering us down the table.

It's worth mentioning that the only news of an extension for Agar has come from his spoof Twitter account, Sir Richard Agar; this is the same spoof account who claims to shave his plums before each home game, so it has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

As I mentioned previously, come match day, it is not Agar that drops the ball, misses the tackle and doesn't kick correctly. Ultimately, if the players made no errors and looked eager then I would blame Agar but currently it is the players that are giving away the position and costing us games, not the coach!
