Ron Gibbs was the Cas player polaxed on Scrumdown staggering around like a drunk, think it may be on YouTube - pretty sure that wasn’t Price though, think it was an attempted tackle on Eden.



The tackle I think you may mean was at Fev on Boxing Day when Ray smashes Jeff Grayson who was even older than him - think the guy had been mouthing in the papers pre match. He was carried off the pitch if I recall.

Those were the days.

Post Office Road rammed full on Boxing Day (or New Years Day) and half the crowd would still change ends at half time



Even though I wouldn't want to go back to the winter game, we've definitely lost something (apart from frostbite) since the change.

No it's definitely Grayson but he probably did Tuuta that day as well, he was on fire in that game and really turned back the years.

The Ronnie "Rambo" Gibbs collision with Phil Eden's hip was a classic moment (right up there with Johnny Tompson's "I like it hard"icon_wink.gif. The credits at the end of the programme replayed Gibbs staggering about with Wishing on a Star playing.

Maybe the old brain cells deteriorating Vasty, but I was convinced that it was Ray Price and a Cas player at Belle Vue.

I actually thought the same until somebody pointed me to that video on YouTube and let’s be fair on ourselves it was a long time ago.

Remember that day well, it was the day our first was born and I was trying to listen to the match on the radio in the birth suite. Stop your screaming woman, I'm trying to listen to the game and by the way we're winning!

No it was Ronnie Gibbs head bouncing off Phil Eden's knee/thigh, he whiplashed into the deck and the rest was wishing on a star.
